The Hippopotamus Train Game

just another ordinary day... I think

I woke to the smell of cinnamon buns. I glanced over at Tori's bed. It was empty and made as usual. I chuckled and rolled my eyes and got out of bed.
I went to the kitchen to see Reagan and Charlie at the table eating cinnamon buns and drinking milk and mom at the stove eating one and reading a magazine. I walked over and gave her a hug and got a cinnamon bun and a glass of milk. I sat down by Charlie and i heard his phone ring and he quickly got it out and started furiously texting. Mom looked up and saw him and said "Charlie you know the rules, no phones at the table." Charlie gave her a worried look and see said,"Oh i guess I will make an exception, but your father probably not." He nodded and looked down the hall before texting the rest of the text and put it away. My guess is that he is texting Mandi his girlfriend and dad is STILL asleep, but I can't blame him we had a long day of raping up our camping trip and he and I like sleeping . Then the door creaked open and closed quietly and Tori came in with running shorts, a random t-shirt a sports bottle with water, her fitbit strapped to her wrist and her head phones on. See her and her boyfriend kyle went on morning jogs at 5:30 am see I could never do that, I like to think that I could or would, but no. Never. Period.  Charlie said while dusting off crumbs on his hands " Come on Reagan lets go." "were are you going?" said mom. " I promised Reagan that we would go to the park remember?" " Oh yes I remember you telling me that go on and I hope you are changing your clothes boys and Reagan  you are NOT wearing those new shoes we bought the other day!" "yes mom!" they both said. "wait for us!" said tori and nodded her head to our room and mom whispered/yelled "be quiet your father is sleeping and you do NOT wanna wake him!" we ran off to our room and got dressed I wore some shorts and a t-shirt that had Darrel Dickson from the walking dead on it and some sneakers and tori had on this floral t-shirt with some shirts and some sneakers and this grape juice necklace she wore all the time, see in kindergarten we made them, I have an apple juice one, they are  these bottle caps that have apple juice  and grape juice  with apples and grapes on them with a hole punched in them with a string and we made each others and they hold the others favorite juice. See my favorite juice is grape and tori's is apple so it's like we can see a bit of us in the other. So any ways I felt bad and grabbed mine and we were off Tori and I grabbed our skateboards and Reagan and Charlie walked. We got there and we swung from monkey bars and swings and did the marry go round and played hide and go seek and tag and a bunch of others then Charlie took Reagan to the ice cream truck he offered to buy us some, but we passed and I looked for tori I saw a girl with long wavy dark hair I tapped her shoulder and she turned around and I studied her blue eyes and she sniffled and I noted her tear stained cheeks and her slightly red eyes and pink nose. I knelt and gave her a hug "Tori what's wrong?" she shrugged me off and said," Lets find Reagan and Charlie." we searched for a dark haired teen and a blonde six year old. We found them near the truck slurping their ice cream and Charlie noticed Tori he land in on me and whispered," What's wrong with her?" " I..I don't know she won't tell me." I whispered back he gave me a non believing look and a worried look because we told each other every thing because we are twins and best friends. Then we desisted to leave even Tori and I walked home because we were tiered and walked back home and mom was grocery store shopping and dad was watching Pawn Wars or something like that. We desisted to play monopoly and life. Tori won both Charlie came second in monopoly and third in life I came second on life and third on monopoly and Reagan came last in both, but we told him that he came first to avoid a fit. Mom called us to a meal of ham, mac and cheese and bread and butter. Next we went to Reagans room to feed the turtle some lettuce and carrots from moms garden. " What did you name it rea?" asked Charlie. "Lillian." he said simply and put the lettuce and carrots in Lillian's food bowl. Then me and Tori while the boys stayed in Reagans room. We watched a bit of the walking dead then dad yelled ," LIGHTS OUT." and we turned off the tv, changed and got in bed. Dad came in once  to make sure that we were in bed and we said our good nights and later In the night I heard Tori crying I wanted to ask her again. but I did not want to push her so I didn't, but she sounded bad so I desisted that if she kept going I was going to ask her, but it stopped and I released that she cried herself to sleep that made me sad and I eventually fell into slumber.
