Buzz. Buzz.

‘Skylar! Wake up! Its your first day of school. Now get up and get ready!’ Skylar’s mum-(Debbie) ordered.

Skylar was quite a lazy child but she couldnt afford to miss her first day of school-(meaning college). Off she rolled out of bed to get dressed and please her mother.

‘Morning doll. D’you want me to bring you up to school?’ Said Debbie with a big smile while making the toast that had just popped out of the toaster.

‘No, its okay, you dont need to. Mum, I um, I dont like burnt toast...’ Replied Skylar with a frown upon her face staring at the toast.

Debbie looked at the toast in despair and shuffed them into the bin while saying. ‘Sorry hun, you dont like it burnt, you dont get any.’

Debbie was quite a strict mum, she always believed in the quote ‘no pain, no game’, Skylar had heard those words alot in her life. She didnt live with her dad-(Shaun)-he and Debbie had gotton a divorce when Skylar was twelve, it was an upsetting time for her because the moment Debbie said those words he was out of the door! Skylar didnt blame her mum for kicking him out because he wasnt the nicest of people. He never made any effort with Skylar and he always shouted and went out to the pub with his friends(if any) drinking. She was glad he was out for these past four-five years but the house was never the same, always quite and it felt cold and it was like the house had an emotion, an emotion of sadness:missing Shaun she always supposed.

‘Ill see you later dear, are you sure now you dont want me dropping you off?’ Debbie asked.

‘No its. Umm, fine. Ill see you ‘ater, bye.’ She replied in a dead voice.

As she stepped out of the door, the wind rushed through her skin and gave her a chill down her spine and the hairs on her arms and legs struck out of place. She dragged her coat out of her bag and placed her arms through the arm holes and pulled it down so it would fit into place. As she walked out through the gate she seen a tallish girl walking close, with two others following behind, like they were her property, slaves. They were all making smug faces as they walked past every house and now were very close to Skylars. She was wearing cute little black shoes with a nice pink polka-dotted skirt and a plain white shirt with a little black cardi going over her shirt. It had a nice pink ribbon sown in it. Her hair was a lovely glossy brown and it swayed slowly through the wind as she walked passionately down the road. The other two were wearing something a bit similar but you could tell who was the real ‘Queen B’! Unlike Skylar, she wore her ripped blue jeans with a pair of old black converses and a plain t-shirt with her basic black coat, just something basic to wear to school with no effort put into it at all. The three girls walked over to Skylar and sniggered under their breath as they beautifully walked past. They were walking down the same road that Skylar was going down to her new school-college-, that would be brilliant, three girls she bumped into who had sniggered at her and what she wore. Excellant, today is going to be a fun day! She had said to her self walking down the road with a depressed look on her face, the day had already started off bad.

‘Welcome!’ Said one of the college girls, cheerfully. ‘Im Franchesca, whats your name?’

‘Im, um. Skylar. Nice to meet you.’ Skylar said gripping onto her bagpack nervously.

I hope shes nicer than the three girls I saw before!

She handed Skylar a little leaflet, it was only talking about the school. Franchesca’s picture was printed on the front of it, she was called a ‘Helping Angel’.

‘So if you need any help. Just come and find me or if you turn over onto the next page in the leaflet you can go and see the other helping angels to. Well I need to go but give me a shout when needed. Bye.’ Off she ran to the other five people in a circle with badges on them just like hers, they must of been the other ‘angels’ to. They all wore blue shirts and grey pants with badges, all the same. They must have a uniform so people could find them easily, so she thought.
