Georgia's POV
I get undressed to shower while the room fills with steam and Father - "Heartthrob" plays in the background (PLAY SONGGG) I look on the mirror admiring my curvy body, I know I can be self centered, but damn I look good rn 😊. I finally get in the shower and the hot water cleanses away the stress of my day as it remains existing in steam on the mirror. I look in the mirror, and see a beautiful young girl. I look in the cloudy mirror, and see a stressed out, helpless girl in a world too big for her to get a grip on. I cry a little, thinking about the beating I'll get from my mom when I come out of this bathroom. My dad left the house years ago, and my mom's taken it out on me ever since.

I go in my room quietly so my mom won't hear me, and I lotion my dark chocolate brown skin. Skin like this, you think this bitch finna be ashy!? Uh-Uhn. Just then my phone rings and it's my bestfriend, Angelo. I decline, telling him I'm tryna get dressed. Then I get a text back, it's a smirk face emoji, "lol u lil perv" I text back. He's so annoying Lls.
*Later at School*
"And your homework for the weekend is-" BRRRRING the bell rang. "DO PAGE 156-160 IN YOUR MATH BOOKS" The teacher yelled, but we were already gone. "wanna go to the mall this weekend?" Angelo asks me nervously. Why is he nervous?, I ask myself. "Sure, why not" I say nonchalantly. "Cool" He said looking the other way. Angelo is my day one. I've known him since the 1st grade. He's a tall boy with these big shiny diamond earrings, and smooth, dark, chocolate skin. He's lowkey cute, but I don't wanna make our friendship awkward.
When I got home, my mother was passed out drunk on the couch. I took that opportunity to pack some of my clothes and some money. I'm gonna spend the night with Angelo. I don't wanna deal with my mom in the morning, so it's best to leave.
