The Blocked Number

So Andy hasn't been to school for the past three days and it's the best feeling in the world. It's almost like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I know he's only been gone for three days but it's given me enough time to start talking to someone, someone really nice and just perfect in every way. Since it's Friday this guy I've been talking to and I are going to see a movie. He's a year older than me so he drives. Like an actual car. When I got home I called Tony (yes, his name is Tony and his name is perfect in every way). I was so excited for tonight that I could barely contain my happiness so I just started texting my mom, since she was still at work, and told her all about it. I stopped texting my mom and checked the time. 6:30. Tony will be over to pick me up in an hour, just enough time to get ready.

I started to walk to my bathroom to turn on my curling iron when my phone went off. It was a blocked number. What? Of course I answered it.

"Hello?"

"When the hell were you gonna tell me that you were gonna go to the movies with some guy?"

"Well I was gonna tell you as soon as you told me who you are."

"Stop being stupid Gabby, you know exactly who I am."

"No, I actually have no idea who you are or how you got my number."

"It's Andy."

"I know that I should probably ask you how you got my number. But how did you know that I was going to the movies tonight with somebody?"

"Well your friend Margret or whatever her name is.."

"Maggie."

"Whatever. Anyhow, she came over to Shelby's and just kept babbling on about how you got a date tonight."

Dammit Maggie.

"Okay, well I wasn't going to tell you because that does not concern you."

Then he just hung up. What a creep. I tossed my phone onto my bed and began to curl my hair. By time I was done it was 7:15, Tony would be here soon. I grabbed phone and put some money in the pocket of my jeans. I mean, Tony said that he would pay for me but I always bring money with me just in case. Tony came a little early, but I didn't mind. He pulled up to my house in a Chevy pick up truck. That's hot. And we talked the whole way the movies and had the best time at movies. He was just so fun to be with.

"I had an amazing time tonight Gabs" said Tony.

"I had a great time too." I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear.

"So, maybe we can do something tomorrow? Just like hang at the mall?"

"Perfect."

Just as I was about to open his truck door and leave he pulled me into the best kiss I had ever had. I could feel him smiling. He pulled away after about 30 seconds and just looked me in the eyes and smiled. Then I finally broke the silence.

"So I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yeah, I'll call you."

"Oh. And thanks for paying for me."

"Anytime."

And with that I opened the door and hopped out of his truck. I unlocked my front door and watched him back out of the driveway. I couldn't help but scream in pure joy. Best. Night. Ever. I walked into the kitchen to get something to drink when I noticed a note on the counter.

Dear Gabby,

Me and your dad went out to dinner, won't be back until later so don't wait up for us. And Maggie came over, when we left she was in your room.

-Mom

Maggie's here? Cool. I kicked off my shoes and ran up to my room and sure enough, Maggie was laying on my bed.

"You and Tony really hit it off, I mean he kissed you on the first date!"

My cheeks burned of embarrassment.

"How did you know?"

She laughed. "I heard you guys pull in so I watched from your window."

"I hate you."

''Whatever, so, how did it go?"

"It was amazing, we watched an awesome movie and had a great time. He's just so perfect, if I haven't said that enough times. He's not like Danny who just says he wants to fuck me all the time. And he's definitely not Andy, who just assaults me in public. Tony is just this flawless human being."

"Aw, that's good, you finally found someone that you really like."

"And we're going to the mall tomorrow!"

As soon as I got that out of my mouth my phone started vibrating in my pocket. I took it out and looked at my screen, blocked number. How much do you wanna bet it's Andy?

"Hello?''

"So, did you have a good time at the movies?"

"Yes, Andy, I actually had the best time of my life."

"I doubt that."

"It really was and at least he's not a creep like you that calls me all the time and gets all up in my business."

"TWICE!'' he screamed "I CALLED YOU TWICE!"

"And that's two times to many." Then I hung up the phone and threw my phone on my carpet.

Can't just one good thing happen to me without Andy being a little shit about it? Oh, well this day was too great for me to pout about Andy, I had an awesome day and I'm going to have another good day tomorrow.
