"Who's the boss?" A soft click came from the revolver as the trigger was pulled releasing a blank before the younger man uttered his words again "I'm the boss." Peering out from behind the door my eyes fell upon my father who swiftly took the gun from the other male after settling their dispute "I believe you are Jerome, I believe you are" with that he swiped the blade from the mans hands and danced around with it gleefully. Something about him took my fancy, his looks of course were pleasing to the eye, although there was something more, something special shall I say? Deciding to make an entrance I ruffled up my curls and pushed the door wide open, a red lipped smirk settled upon my face "oh daddy, I really do wish you'd let me play with your new friends" cocking my head to the side I flashed him my teeth, quirking my brow upwards. To say I was spoilt as a child was an understatement. My father always made sure I had the best of everything as well as what ever my heart so desired. This time however he was adamant I stay away from these people. Feeling all of their eyes on me a sauntered toward my father, my hips swaying in the process. "For goodness sake Alice! Who let you in!" Placing my hand on my hip, pouting at the man I dared to call father I simply shrugged at him "well that's no way to treat your little princess now is it? I just wanna play too" looking up at him through my lashes grinning he began to shuffle on his feet, his eyes darting around the room at its occupants who's eyes were all on him in shock. "Please! I told you I didn't want you here, this is too dangerous for you sweetheart, these people.." His voice was low as he spoke, seeming as if he didn't want anyone else to here he was worried for my welfare. Before he was able to finish his sentence I held my index finger in the air, silencing him before turning on my heels "these people? Well, they seem like bundles of fun to me" looking over my shoulder at my father a soft smirk fell upon my lips before averting my gaze back to the others "so daddy, care to introduce me?" Huffing loudly he came to my side nodding at each person, introducing them. The first for him to introduce was a small, somewhat skinny man, his brown hair combed over to the side, he eyes wide as he stared at us "Arnold Dobkins" he uttered as gesturing toward him. The next was a bigger, more intimidating man, although at first glance he appeared to be... Dense being the nicest way to put it "Aaron Helzinger" the next one for my father to introduce me to went by the name of Barbra kean, very beautiful blonde woman, appearing to be somewhat lost and unsure of herself. Robert Greenwood was next to be introduced, short, rather large man with hair that was clearly as crazy as his personality. Turning on my heels I came to face the young red haired boy who made a scene of himself not so long ago "no need for introductions sir.." His eyes captivated me as he spoke, slowly making his way over to me, circling me once, twice, stopping in front of me as he decided not to go a third time. Taking my hand in his he gently brought it to his lips. His eyes still boring into mine. "Jerome Veleska, and may I just say what a pleasure it is to meet you" softly he brushed his lips against my hand before looking up, the grin still firmly planted on his face. Taking my hand back from him, my lips still carrying a smirk my eyes meet with his "oh honey. You ain't seen nothing yet"
A growl came deep from his throat as I turned on my heels, my eyes dancing around the room, a playful smile on my face. The quick step click of heels rang through the room as Tabitha made her entrance, her eyes instantly landing on me, and ear to ear grin not far behind "Alice? Decided to join our little party!" Her voice ladled with humour as she looked up at my father "much to daddy's disgust aunty! A girl has to have fun too does she not?" Making her way over to me she hopped her arm around my waist, giving me a quick look over before diverting her attention back to my father "honestly Theo, you picked out six of arkhams best, killed one of them due to not getting your own way when really, you have a perfect candidate right here!" Silence filled the room as the two of them stared at each other for what felt like an eternity. The silence was broken by a soft chuckle, which soon turned into a loud cackle "such a beautiful specimen, reeking of innocence. What makes you think she's worthy?" The gingers words rang through my ears. Looking over my shoulder at him I merely raised an eyebrow in amusement, a smirk toying on my lips. Making my way over to him, making sure I did so as slowly as possible, knowing full well everyone's eyes were on me. Placing my index finger on the top of his chest I pushed him downwards, allowing his arse to meet the chair underneath him "what's your name again? Freckles" lowering my lips to his ear I spoke again "I would so love to know" Without hesitation he answered, his voice deep and unbothered by my close presence "Jerome" placing my self upon his lap, my eyes bored into his "don't you know what a pretty face can do honey?" My face inches away from his, the feeling of his short sharp breaths on my skin taking me by surprise. Gently I brushed my lips against his, getting the desired effect as his eyes fluttered closed. Slowly I eased the blade out from my boot, holding it to his neck, applying a fair amount of pressure "so tell me ...Jerome. Who's the boss?" His eyes were fixated on mine, a toothy grin plastered on his face carrying a sense of appreciation for what just happened "oh you are fun!" His voice laced with enthusiasm, his gaze never leaving me as I removed myself from his lap. Reverting my attention back to my father I smirked, glancing at him trough slanted eyes "so daddy, you gonna tell them who I am or have I gotta do it myself?" Letting out an agitated huff he grabbed my arm, pulling me toward him as he looked around the room "gentlemen, Barbra. I want you all to meet Alice, my daughter. She will be assisting you on occasion, listen to her, protect her with your lives. Touch her though? And you're dead! Understand?" They all nodded, agreeing with my fathers words; all except Jerome of corse, who's eyes were still glued to me like a hawk with a silly grin on his face "don't worry Mr G I'll take real good care of her" his voice was deep, laced with something I couldn't quite put my finger on. A harsh look was sent in Jerome's direction, my father gritting his teeth in anger. The rest of them went about their business. Continuing to mess around with the weapons provided or carry on the conversations I had so rudely interrupted. Jerome stayed seated in the chair, his eyes boring into me. Quirking my eyebrow upwards I gave him an agitated look as if to ask him what it is he wanted. Grabbing my arm roughly my father pulled me out of the trance the ginger had put me in, his eyes filled with sorrow as he looked at me "honestly Alice! I told you to stay with your mother until I had sorted this, I don't want to getting hurt in the cross fire" His grip loosened on my arm, changing from a rough grasp to a soft touch. I couldn't help but laugh at his words. He of all people should understand my predicament with my mother "mumsy dearest is a little tied up at the moment daddy, would probably be best if I stay here with you" I couldn't help but grin as I spoke, his eyes widening as I did so "what did you do?!" The alarm in his voice was amusing, he should have known better then to leave that woman to look after me, honestly, he knows what we're like. "I feed and water her ... If I remember" my voice deep as I spoke my last few words, the grin on my face never wavering. My father took a step back from me. Pinching the bridge of his nose as he muttered his words "where is she?" He sounded hurt as he spoke, of course, it wasn't hurt for her; it was hurt for me "my old bedroom" a soft laugh escaped my mouth as he turned to Tabitha, telling her to go and release her from the basement at once. "Oh you're bad" Jerome's words took me by surprise. Looking over toward him, his elbow resting on the table next to him, holding his head up as he looked at me with awe, a puzzled look falling over his eyes for a split second before he rose to his feet, making his way over to me. Standing infront of me it was clear to see that he towered over me, almost as if he were trying to intimidate me "tell me though princess, why didn't you just kill her?" Shuffling my weight onto one leg, placing my hand on my hip I looked up at him, cocking my head to the side in amusement "I want to play with her. I want to break her both mentally and physically before she can take no more, then I might take pity and end her pathetic life. Until that day however, I will continue to have my fun" yet another growl came deep from his throat, his eyes drifting over me a few times before locking back onto my gaze again "well aren't you something else" grinning brightly, he placed his arm over his mid drift, bowing softly "I'm sorry to have doubted such a beautifully twisted mind" his bright eyes never left mine as he spoke. His gaze was captivating, bright blue pools I couldn't seem to tear myself away from. His face mere inches from mine, I took the opportunity to study him better. His teeth straight and bright, almost always holding that beautiful manic smile that sent shivers down my spine. His tussled ginger hair looked soft to the touch as it naturally sat perfectly. To say he was attractive would have been a great understatement, he was captivating, mesmerising, his gaze almost rendering me defenceless. Of course I let none of this show, making sure he had no concept of how much he effected me just by gazing in my general direction. Pushing myself up onto the table I sat, swaying my legs softly as I looked at him through my long lashes. "What did you do that was so special then? Why'd daddy pick you? There are many brilliant minds in that place" He cocked his head to the side. As if he were confused that I even asked the question, taking a seat next to me he cleared his throat, grinning brightly "oh I dunno ..." He trailed off, the pitch in his voice significantly higher than normal, that was until he spoke again, his words laced with something dark "my boyish charm? My brains? My good looks? Or maybe, just maybe princess it's that he thinks I can be great, just like you do ..." My hand shot to my mouth, trying to hide my laughs at his previous comment. Feeling his eyes on me I quickly composed myself, clearing my throat "sweetie, don't get me wrong, the laugh. It works, but what makes you think the thought of you being great even crossed my mind?" Deciding to face the music I looked up at him, his face showing no emotion, bar a smirk toying on his lips, leaving in he lowered his lips to my ear "how long were you watching me for before you decided to drag your pretty little arse in here? Alice ..." The sound of my name leaving his lips caught my off guard, my breath hitching slightly, feeling his breath on the lobe of my ear. "Now ladies and gentlemen, shall we get down to business?" My father stole everyone's attention as he stood at the head of the room, his gaze landing on me, a soft smile playing on his lips "in fact. Now you're here Alice it's even better... How're your acting skills my dear?" Humour played on his face as he spoke. I knew my father wouldn't let me get hurt, but something about all of this worried me. As cold hearted and twisted as I was, my father was not much further behind. Knowing this I merely shrugged, informing him that if j can play sweet with my mother so she can trust me enough to lock her in a cold basement for three days then I was pretty sure I could fool any stupid copper.
My father discussed his wishes with the group in great detail, he wanted mass panic, and that's what he was going to get. Barbra had stormed off in annoyance with Tabitha as yet again, my father had neglected to include her in his games. "First things first, cheerleaders or OAPs?" A loud chesty chuckle left him as his eyes danced around all of us. Clapping loudly I couldn't help but giggle from excitement "as much as I relish in the thought of blowing up grandma, I really can't stand those preppy bitches" I gave my father a pleading look from across the table we all sat around "I wouldn't speak so fast sweetheart, you're going to have to impersonate one of those 'preppy bitches' in order for me to get close to the police" opening my mouth I went to say something, although was rudely interrupted by greenwood sat a couple of chairs away from me "just imagine how delectable you'd look it that outfit though" his tongue flicked over his lips eyeing my up as if I were the first meal he'd eaten in weeks. I heard a familiar click to the right of me, my head quickly turning to be met with the barrel of a gun pointing Greenwoods way "just remind me Greenwood, who's the boss?" Jerome cocked his head to the side, a big grin on his face as he held his gun steady, his gaze never moving from the scruffy man in front of him. All colour drained from Greenwood's face as Jerome continued to stare, his eyes wide, filled to the brim with anger and blood lust. It looked good on him. A little to good really, causing me to loose my train of thought as I admired the young man holding a gun on my behalf. Amusement danced in my fathers eyes as he watched the boy. His hand never shook. His eyes never wondered. Greenwood eventually gave in, releasing the breath that he had clearly been holding during that whole ordeal. Reaching for Jerome's forearm I grasped hold of it softly snapping him out of his trance. In one swift motion he put the gun away and took his seat shooting glares over at Greenwood every opportunity. " cheerleaders would be the better option. Looking at your daughter she doesn't strike me as the type to visit 'ole granny" Arnold's words took us all by surprise. He hadn't uttered a word since I first made my entrance. His eyes wide, hands tucked into the sleeves of his shirt, his nerves shining through as his gaze averted to the table appearing to be ashamed of the idea he just had. Putting his hand on Arnold's shoulder my father nodded in agreement "I couldn't agree more, my little girl, finally a cheerleader" scowling I rose to my feet "and if I refuse?" My eyes narrowed as I spoke, the room full of unspoken questions. " then I'm afraid my sweet, this operation will go on without you" he chuckled softly, patting Arnold on the back before returning back to his seat. I huffed loudly, making sure he was able to hear me from across the room. He knew he could get what he wanted. He had seen how desperate I was to be part of all of this, using it to his up most advantage "fine, you want a cheerleader in distress, you have one" I eyed my father, taking him by surprise as I agreed so easily. Something about it all made me think he wanted me to decline. He went on to discuss his plans. They had already acquired the truck full of gasoline. All we had to do was plant me on the school bus, pray to god that I knew how to cheer on a foot ball team, then blow the rest of those stuck up tarts up. Simple really, of course, making sure I was removed safely from the bus, making it appear as if they had taken me for their own twisted pleasure. "I will have the GCPD eating out of my hand. My beautiful daughter taken by those monsters"
