Chapter 5-- Audrey
I text Malachi in the middle of my government class to see if we could hang today. The homecoming dance is coming up in a few weeks and I want to ask him to be my date. Last year we went together but just as friends. Do you know how tortuous that was to watch him dance with all those girls? I was irritated the whole night. But I tried not to show it.
After class I meet my friend Chelsea by my locker. "Hey girl!" she says as to me. "Hey girl. You look really cute," I say looking over her outfit. She's wearing a pair of grey jeans, a red vintage sweater and black combat boots. Her long black weave goes down to her back, drawing attention to her round hips. She is the definition of thick. "Thanks, so do you. So what's up for the night? Lets do something." "Oh, I actually already texted Malachi to see what he's doing," I say avoiding eye contact with her by picking imaginary lint off of my shirt. "When are you going to confess to him that your in love with him? If you don't do it soon, I'll do it for you," she says. "Actually I planned to tell him tonight. That's why I texted him. Last night I spent the night with him and I was so tempted just snuggle up under him but I had to resist."
"Well I hope everything goes well. Why'd you stay the night? Is everything okay at home?" I never told Sierra my whole life story about my mom being on drugs. Its not that I don't trust her, I just don't want a lot of people knowing. "My parents got into another fight," I said as the bell rang.
The rest of the day went by pretty slow. And by the end of the day, I still hadn't gotten a text back. After the final bell I went to grab my stuff out of my locker before going to my car. As I walked to the parking lot, Sierra wasn't waiting by my car. I usually gave her a ride home. Then I spotted her talking to Jason and figured she would get a ride home from him. All throughout high school they had been on and off.
When I walk in the door its completely silent. Which is weird because usually by the time I get out of school my mom is on her break from work. I go up to my room and change out of my school clothes. Instead I throw on a pair of pink terry cloth shorts and a black tank top. I have so much work to do it's ridiculous. I pull out a book we are reading for English and start working on my chapter analysis. Midway through, I hear the door bell ring. I go downstairs to see who it is and to my surprise its Malachi. "So instead of texting me back you just show up at my house?" I say opening the door. "Basically," he says walking right past me and sitting on the couch turning the TV on. "Sure, go right ahead and make yourself comfortable." I close the door and walk over to him and put my hands on my hips. He looks at me from head to toe twice. Wait, did he just check me out?
Chapter 6-- Malachi
I walk into Audrey's house and sit down. I can't help but notice how beautiful she looks. I must really be feeling her because I don't usually refer to girls as beautiful. I usually use words like sexy, fine, hot, etc. "Are you just gone stand there looking at me?" I ask. "What are you doing here?" Why is she so shocked by presence? I usually show up at anytime and it's never been a problem. "Why you being so hostile? What you got some dude upstairs?" I ask hoping to sound like I'm joking but I'm really curious. "Come on, you know me better than that. I was in the middle of doing homework when showed up." Since we've been friends, Audrey never had a serious boyfriend. There's been guys she dated but they usually didn't last and we both know why. Because of me. Guys didn't like how close we are. That's the same reason why my relationships didn't last. Every girl I dated was intimidated by our friendship, swearing it was something more than what it was. One time I was in the middle of having sex with this chick when Audrey comes into my room crying. I jumped out of the bed and sent the chick I was just doing home. Needless to say, that chick never talked to me again. Audrey always comes before any chick I dated.
Audrey goes into the kitchen and comes back with cookies. Every time I come over here I have to eat. She sets the cookies on the table and sits next to me. I turn on UFC knowing she'll get bored quickly. She hates violence and it doesn't take long for her to voice her opinion. "Do we really have to watch this? You know I hate it." She says reaching for the remote. "Well it's better than the stupid housewife reality shows you like. Plus you need to learn how to protect yourself." She rolls her eyes when I say that and says whatever. "Come on lets practice," I say pulling her up from the couch. "Malachi, no. I don't feel like it and last we practiced it didn't turn out so well." She says referring to last time when she kicked me in the "family jewels".
I ignore her pleas and put my hands up for her to hit them. Seeing that she's not getting out of this she starts hitting them. After a few punches I grab both of her wrists and put them behind her back and push her on the couch. She lifts her left leg up to my chest in the space between us and kicks me to the floor. She gets on top of me and pins my hands above my head. Damn she looks sexy like this. She must not know the effect she has on me. "Gotcha!" she says with a smile in her face. "Not too soon," I say wrapping my legs around her and flipping her on her back with me on top. By this point where both breathing hard. I lean down and kiss her soft lips and to my surprise she kisses me back.
