The Mating Convention

Chapter 2

The next morning I wake up to a knocking on the door and Jason's arm round my waist.

"Josie, you and Jason need to get up as you need to set off in an hour at the latest." My Mom says before walking back downstairs.

I sit up and shake Jason awake.

"You get ready in my bathroom, I'll go use the main one." I tell him getting out of bed.

I grab everything I need, including clothes, underwear and stuff from my bathroom before heading down the hall. When I get to the bathroom I lock the door and empty my bladder. Then I connect my phone to the speaker and play Cold Water by Justin Bieber. I turn the shower on and wait for it to get warm before I jump in.

As I washed my hair late last night I put it in a messy bun and I only have to wash and shave. I start by washing my body with my Lime Body Wash before shaving my legs and armpits.

When I'm done I dry my body before putting on my black thong and strapless bra followed by black, high waisted skinny jeans and a black, polo neck, sleeveless crop top. As the jeans are high waisted only a small part of my belly is showing. Before leaving the bathroom I clean my teeth.

When I go back to my room I find Jason sitting on my bed wearing a dark blue button up and black jeans with some dark blue Nike Roshe Runs with a white tick. I head straight to my dressing table to do my hair and make up.

"Looking very smart." I say, starting to do my foundation.

"And you look beautiful. You don't need the make up." He says rolling his eyes.

"Don't lie." I tell him applying my concealer.

Every time he sees me doing my make up he says the same thing. As well as foundation and concealer I only use powder, blusher and mascara as I don't like to use too much. Once my make up is done I plug my hair straighteners in and make my hair perfectly straight. When it's done I apply some lip gloss and put my black Adidas Superstars with a white stripe on.

"Ready?" He asks me standing up.

"Ready as I'll ever be." I say following him out. "Mom, we're going." I call out when we reach the bottom of the stairs.

She appears from the kitchen wearing her apron.

"Good luck today and if you don't find your mate don't let it upset you too much." She tells us as she gives us both a hug.

"Thanks Mom, I'll see you later. Love you." I tell her as we leave the house.

"Love you too, I'll be here waiting." She says and it's the last thing I hear as I close the car door.

I wave until we're out of sight and on our way to the Mating Convention.

...

An hour later Jason kills he engine and we stare at the building in front of us.

"Here we are, our first Mating Convention." Jason says reaching for my hand.

"Here we are." I say, squeezing his.

We get out and head into the lobby to sign in. When we sign in we get a sign that we stick to our fronts. On it, it has your name, pack, age and rating on it. So on mine it says; Name: Josie Callahan, Pack: Red Stone, Age: 18, Rating: 4/10. On Jason's it says; Name: Jason Smith, Pack: Red Stone, Age: 18, Rating: 8/10.

Once we have them we walk into the main room where the Convention is happening. As I'm not looking where I'm going I walk right into a hard wall but as I look I realise it isn't a wall but a person. Before I can say sorry someone gasps and the whole room goes quiet. I don't get why till I read the person's sign, Name: Alpha Jamie Blackworth.
