Chapter 6 // Fine

Budo's POV
I don't know what came over me, I just had to. I had waited so long to do this. We had been non stop kissing for a good few minutes when we finally came up for a gasp of air
"I-I'm sorry.." I looked down in guilt
"It's okay, it was just a dare, right?" she smiled, but something wasn't right, was she disappointed?
"A-Ayano... I.."
"Time's up!" Hayato smirked opening the door. I let Ayano go first and Saki gave me an excited look. I shook my head sadly.
"This is just the beginning, don't worry." she mouthed silently, so I nodded
"Okay, let's carry on." we all sat down and Ayano picked up a piece of paper
"Cuddle with your best friend for the rest of the game." had the girls changed the paper while we were... In the closet?
Ayano moved closer to me and leaned her head on my chest, so I wrapped my arm around her nervously. Sure we had done this a million times, but this time it was different. I had to get out of there.
"Sorry, I need the bathroom. I'll be right back." I stood up and rushed away
"I'm going to go get some more snacks." Saki lied running after me. We both went in the kitchen and shut the door behind us
"What was that?"
"I don't know.. I just.. I feel sick."
"You're nervous, I get that. But you need to show Ayano how you feel."
"I know Saki.. I just.. When me and Ayano were in the closet.. After I kissed her.. She looked sad, disappointed even." I said sitting down at the breakfast bar leaning my head over in shame
"You boys are so naive."
"Wow thanks for the support, I feel so much better." I rolled my eyes sarcastically
"Oh fine, I wont tell you the very important thing I just worked out."
"What could possibly be so-"
"She was disappointed because she thinks you just did it for the dare. Duh. She likes you Budo!"
"She.. She does?" I stuttered
"Yes! You have to confess to her on
Tuesday!"
"But that's so far away.."
"It's a few days Budo. You've been waiting a few months, a few days is nothing. Just wait until then and it'll be a day she'll never forget."
"Oh, here you are. Saki, can I talk to Budo a sec?"
"Sure." Saki grabbed some more chips and left, shutting the door behind her
"Budo, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable." Ayano said sitting down next to me
"No, it's not that. It's not you I mean. I just feel a little sick, that's all." I said, still looking at the table, unable to look at her
"You do look kinda pale.. do you need to go home?" she said placing her hand on mine that had been resting on the table
"No. I'm okay. I just need a little rest that's all."
"If you're sure. I'll sit with you until you feel better."
"Thanks.."
"Are you sure nothing else is bothering you?"
"I'm fine."

Ayano's POV
"I'm fine." he said. He was lying.
"Budo? Are you crying?"
"N-No." he lied again. I pulled him into an embrace and hugged him tight
"Budo please tell me what's wrong. I don't like seeing you like this." I said, starting to tear up a little too
"Don't you start crying. You'll set me off even worse." he laughed
"Budo seriously, I'm worried."
"Don't be. I just need a hug that's all. I'm just not in a good mood."
"Then let me make you feel better." I said continuing to hug him
"Thank you Aya."
"I'm always here. Always."
"Guys, I don't mean to interrupt, but Budo we need you." Mina burst in
"What is it?" he asked as we all ran in. Sho was on top of Haruto beating the shit out of him. Budo pulled Sho backwards and slapped him across the face.
"Dude snap out of it! What the fuck is wrong with you?" Budo shouted angrily
"I don't like the way this dickweed is talking to Mina."
"I was fucking joking you psychopath, calm your shit. I wouldn't flirt with your girlfriend." Haruto grabbed his stomach in pain while Saki passed him an icepack from the kitchen
"She's not my girlfriend!" Sho launched forward with only Budo holding him back, good thing Budo's strong.
"Sho, I think you should leave." Mina said calmly
"But I-"
"Sho. Please. I'll talk to you later I promise." she hugged him and gave him a kiss on the cheek
"Fine. For you Mina. But if he or anyone else trys to-"
"Sho. Calm down." Mina said holding his face in her palm. Sho grabbed his bags and left in silence.
"Thanks Budo." Haruto started
"Don't."
"What?"
"Don't. Something you did pissed him off, Sho doesn't get that angry unless he's protecting the ones he loves. So clearly you did something. I'm not going to start shit, but I suggest you apologise for offending him because I'm not always going to be there to hold him back. He will hospitalise you next time." Budo said seriously
"I didn't mean to offend him, and I'm sorry Mina. I'll text him later, I want to let him cool down a bit first."
"That's smart." we all sat down where we were before, but Mina sat on the large sofa this time.
I wanted to calm Budo down, because I could see he was agitated, so I did it the only way I knew how.
"Switch." I smiled at him
"Right here?"
"Yep."
"In front of everyone?"
"Mhm." I sat cross legged
"Are you sure?"
"What are you guys doing?" Hayato asked confused, so I ignored him
"I'm sure." I smiled again. Budo looked at everyone, then back at me again, pausing to think
"Fuck it." he said laying down with his head in my lap, closing his eyes. I brushed my fingers through his hair and helped him calm down like usual
"I'm still confused." Hayato added
"It's relaxing." Budo said calmly
"He's stressed. So I'm helping him destress." I smiled
"You do this a lot?" Saki asked
"All the time." I shrugged
"Okay, well, you guys up for some more truth or dare?" Kokona said
"Let's do this."
"My turn." Saki picked one, "Truth - who out of everyone here do you have the biggest crush on? Do I have to answer this?"
"Yep."
"Fine.. Haruto." she blushed
"Oh. Uh. Nice." Haruto failed miserably at playing cool.
"Moving on!" Saki said embarrassed, so Kokona moved over and Haruto sat next to her.
"I guess it's Haruto's turn." Kokona smirked
"Dare - kiss the person you have a crush on. Ay ay ay, alright." he said kissing Saki on the cheek
"You.. You do?" he nodded and took her hand, kissing her again.
How I longed for that to be me and Budo. But he just sees me as a friend, I need to step up my flirting game...
