Chapter Two

Mr. Kegs Pov:

The next morning I didn't waste anytime, since I had lived in the facility, I had hardly any life outside of giving therapy to children. That was just it though, what is causing these children to have minds that reach outside of the world? Is this really happening, or are these children being connected in some sort of way? Only time will tell, I suppose. I had first met with a little girl, her name being Lilith. "Hello, Mr. Keg!" Lilith greeted me. Unfortunately, Lilith had shown much progress, but her parents had signed a facility paper saying they no longer wanted custody of Lilith. It had angered me. Why abandon your child of which is seeking help to have have a secure childhood? I take care of Lilith as my own. I know it's sorta against rules to have relationships with the patients, but in my eyes, they're more than that.

"Lilith, did you have any dreams last night?" I ask. "Eh, I don't believe it was a dream. I believe it was real." Lilith said giggling. "What happened this time?" I said smiling at her. "Well, Ben showed me his new friend, Sammy. Sammy is so cool!" Lilith said. My heart sank instabtly, and my throat felt so dry it felt hard to breathe. What do I say? What if Sammy hurts her? So much went through my brain, I felt flushed. I gazed at this young girl who had no life, only inside this facility. I tried every day to make her feel like a 'real' child. One of which parents love her unconditionally. One day, she'll have to face the harsh truth.

"Lilith, I don't think Sammy is a good friend for you to hang with." I say, trying to avoid telling her that Sammy is a corrupt child who isn't real. "He told me you would act like this. Sammy was never accepted by people like you." A big with an anger tone. "People like me? Lilith, I'm on your side." I assure her. "Maverick, this session is over." Lilith said. Then she walked to the door and left.

I was in such shock. How did she know my name was Maverick? Was this Sammy reaching out to me? I don't understand. If Benjamin and Lilith can see him. Can the other children see him too? I stood up, and decided it was time for a coffee break.
