I went to school after I sent the twins. All civies go to a civie school. If their father or mother is from the millitary from which ever division, they must go into Millitary school. I couldn't go since my father is gone.
Everybody was all hyped up because of the choosing ceremony. I don't get it. How can they be excited? No civie has survived the Elevators, except for James McAdams.
"I can't believe it tomorrow is the DAY!"
"I know! We get to see Commander West!"
That's what they're all hyped up for? Just to see the new Supreme Commander?
"I can't believe he was appointed as Commander last year! And he was only 19!"
"Youngest Supreme Commander ever to be appointed. Not only that, he even established the Alliance."
"It is true that he build a good relationship between the other countries, no wonder he was just 19."
"And handsome too!"
Giggling girls filled the hallway. Spazzing about the new Supreme Commander. The whole idea is just silly! Someone is gonna die in the Fight building and it's gonna be one of us. Stupid.
The bell's ringing broke into the air silencing the girls and people start to move into their own respective homerooms.
As I walked in, I noticed Leo's pen rolling over his desk. I caught it in midair and hand it over to him.
"Thanks Bree."

I'm late. Millis are gonna come prowling the area. Sure, our country has the biggest millitary arms and forces and people from all over the world look up to us for protection, but millitary kids are the worst. They bully civies, beat them up just because they have the power and we don't. Just like the Elevators. Pick the little guy and see if he can win. It only happened once. There's only a 1% chance that a civie could win.
A car rolled up to my side as I walked on the sidewalk. Millitary.
"Hey bitch, wanna take a ride with us?"
"How much?"
I panicked as they laughed. What am I gonna do? Someone cleared their throat. It wasn't from the car. It was someone from behind me. I turn and I was relieved. Caleb.
"Sorry miss, are these boys bothering you?" His eyes wild with anger looking at the boys.
"It's, It's.."
"Summers." They stuttered in utter shock.
"Eyes on the road!" He yelled. Like soldiers they obeyed Caleb.
"Now get the hell out or I'm gonna report to your commanding officer."
"Yes Sir!" They said simultaneously and drove away.
