Chapter 6 -- Good Morning New York!

Hey Whoever is reading this fanfiction :) 

Well, I am thinking that the rest of the story will probably be from Jennys point of view, but I may change it up a bit. I have actually been getting a few reads for this story and I would like to say thanks to anyone who is reading my story! Also I am not double checking a ton of the details and quotes that I am using with the stuff that happened in the movie because this is more of a creative love child for me not a techincal masterpiece :P

====== Jenny's POV =======

I woke up to the sound of the guys whispering. Barney and I were still wrapped in each others arms and I didn't open my eyes because I wanted to hear what was going on before I tipped them off to the fact that I was now awake. 

"Should we wake them up?" Toll Road asked.

"Yes." Gunnar replied to him.

"Shut up crankenstein. No we shouldn't because they look so adorable and I couldn't bring myself to mess up the perfection that is infront of me right now. Maybe I am in a super romantic mood because of the sleep deprivation and the rigatoni but I don't care." Caesar whispered angrily.

"But what are we going to do if we don't wake them up, I mean. Barney said he wanted to get an early start this morning." Toll Road replied to the guys.

"Yeah. But that was before Jenny showed up. Don't you think he wants to spend a little time with his girl?" Caesar asked. 

"Yeah, actually I would. But you guys won't shut up so that is making it a little hard." Barney said next to me.

I guess he hadn't opened his eyes or anything because all of the guys jumped when they heard his deep and commanding voice. 

"Sorry" they all grumbled as they walked back towards the front of the building. I opened my eyes and looked at Barney. 

"How long were you awake?" I asked him.

"About 15 minutes before you were." He stated.

"How could you have known that I was awake? I never opened my eyes." I asked him, slightly confused by his statement.

'Well, I have woken up next to you a couple of times before, and everytime you wake up your muscles get stiff because you are trying to figure out where you are. You did that this morning like always. So I knew you were up." He told me.

Wow. He knew me pretty well. I smlied and gave him a kiss, which he greedily accepted.

I could hear Caesar open the door and so me and Barney got up. We turned to look at the front of the building just in time to hear Caesar yell "EVERYBODY DOWN". 

Then gunshots, hundreds of gunshots went off outside the building. Before I could even react Barney tackled me to the floor. He was laying on top of me, sheilding me from the debris and bullets. After a couple of seconds he pushed himself off of me and yelled "EVERYBODY OUT!! FAN OUT!!" and we all collected our guns and rushed out the back door. 

I don't really remember much about what happened after that other than the fact that me and Barney ran for cover, and he never once let go of my hand. Then all of a sudden I heard one last round of gunshots and all of our attacks were dead.

Me and Barney walked out into the streets and he said "Whoever did this, if they wanted us dead we would already be dead." 

"I guess so." I responded uncertain of if that was true or not.

All of a sudden the figure of a man emerged from the smoke that was left behind from the firefight. As soon as I saw the man I knew it was Booker. He had trained me to be who I was, he was the closest thing that I had to a father. I couldn't contain my excitement so I took off running towards him.

"What the hell are you doing Jenny?" I could hear Barney yelling behind me. 

Before I could respond Booker wrapped me into a huge hug and spun me around like he did when I was a little girl. 

I had known Booker what seemed like my entire life. He had trained me from the age of 5 to be what I am today. Somehow he found me and decided that I would be his protegee, it's kind of ironic really because of what Lee ended up doing. Well enough of the reminiscing. 

I could feel the eyes of everyone watching me and Booker. I hadn't seen him in so long, I buried my head in his shoulder. He was the father that I never had, dand he knew it. 

"Honey!?" Booker asked hopefully.

"It's me Daddy!!" I yelled as buried my head back into his shoulder. He wasn't my biological father, but he might as well should be. 

Before we could continue our little reunion I was ripped from Bookers arms. This seemed to be a common theme for me lately. I grabbed the mans arm, it was Barney. I couldn't believe that he was going to be all protective macho man with me right now. Couldn't he see that I was in the middle of a heart felt reunion. 

Before I had the chance to yell at him for being such an overprotective asshole Booker pulled out a gun and pointed it at him. He didn't seem to be messing around. Booker was always protective of me, but he usually let me handle it myself. 

"Wait, Barney?" Booker asked with a chuckled as he put his gun back into it's holster. 

"Wait,  it can't be. Booker!?" Barney laughed as he let me go and moved towards Booker to give him a quick hug. 

I guess that they knew each other. 

"What're you doing with my little girl?" Booker asked Barney after they exchanged their hellos.

"She's Lee's little sister, she joined the team." Barney said, his face returning to the uneasy look it had held before.

"So you and Lee found each other, when did that happen?" Booker asked me with a small smile.

"About 5 years ago, I missed you Dad." I replied with a smile before I realized how surprised the team looked at me and Booker.

"Me to baby girl." He said before pulling me into another hug. "You got anyone taking care of you?" 

"Yes I do. Barney and I are a, thing." I said hesitantly trying to gauge his reaction to my news.

Booker turned his head slowly to Barney and said with a smile on his face; "If you hurt her, I will castrate you." 

"Understand." Barney replied with a nod of consideration.

"Well princess, it's that I get on my way." Booker said giving me a kiss on the cheek before turning back into the mist and disappearing like the lone wolf he is. It was amazing to see him again, if only for a little while; but he left me with a whole hell of lot of questions, some that I wasn't sure if I was ready to answer yet.
