I felt my heart stop beating when I heard that voice, the voice I have waited for so long to hear again
"Joe" I turned around and their he was the gorgeous boy who always seemed to take my breath away. He was dressed in some blue jeans and a black shirt the clung to his muscles. Water was dripping from his black hair. He looked perfect.
"I know I'm sexy and all but you don't have to drool all over me all the time"
"Same old Joe, you haven't changed at all" I scowled
"That's not true I got sexier" He grinned brightly at me.
Just as I was about to make a comeback a tall redhead girl came looking for Joe.
"Joe I thought I had lost you" she said. I just stared confused wondering who she was.
"Haley this is Sophia she is my roommate. Her parents are out of the country and she didn't want to be alone so I offered her to come with me."
"I hope that is okay with you Haley I really don't want to be a burden or cause a problem." she said holding on to Joe's arm while he smiled at her.
Too late. There is something I don't like about her.
"Haley we have to go home I left my hair straightener plugged in, our neighbors just called that our apartment is on fire." Kelsey yelled pulling me away not giving me a chance to say goodbye.
What a great day today-not. First our apartment got destroyed because of a hair straightener. Most importantly the first time I see Joe and everything goes wrong. We only talked for like 5 minutes and that Sophie or whatever her name was interrupted us before we even had the chance to talk. Who was she anyways? Mayb-
"Haley I'm sorry I pulled you away from Joe. Are you mad at me? Please stop ignoring me" she whined.
"What? Sorry I was out of it. I am not angry, let's just be happy that no one got hurt because the fire." I reassured her " Besides Joe and I agreed to catch up tomorrow, more privately" I lied not wanting her or anyone to know that I was jealous or that Joe brought a mysterious redhead back with him.
Just then the phone rang.
"Haley it's for you and I will be right back I am going to pick up something to eat"
"Hello?" I said hoping it was Joe "Jake hi what happened " I tried not to sound disappointed. "You left your jacket behind just asking if you want me to drop it off at your dorm."
"Actually I am staying at a hotel right now why don't I just go pick it up tomorrow" I said then quickly hung up.
He didn't call. He probably was too busy with Sophie. Ugg it seems like he didn't miss me at all. We haven't seen each other in 3 years and then when we are reunited he practically ditches me for another girl. I wiped my tears away and decided to get ready for bed.
If he wants to ignore me. Two can play that game.
