 ALIEN ENCOUNTERS

PROLOGUE: DENIAL AND DISBELIEF

FILE # XXX-XXXXX-XX

Male subject strongly expressed disbelief regarding the subject-matter at hand, and denied having experienced any incident in relation to it. He even stated that such a ‘thing’ is ‘nothing but [an] illusion’, and ‘[is] utterly non-existent’. Subject thinks that individuals who believe in that specific matter are ’deluded’, ‘insane’ and ‘have no grasp on reality’. Subject is very negative about the idea of ever getting involved with that matter, for according to him, he is a ‘being with a higher purpose and cannot be bothered by such banalities.’

Subject admits later on that he was wrong. He even claimed that he had undergone an ‘alien’ experience.

1. SIGHTING

An instance of seeing or catching sight of something; typically something unusual or rare.

Third training day on the job – so far, so good. I guess working as a service crew isn’t so bad. What’s bad, really, is my socializing skills. God, I have the congeniality of a potato. Well… maybe I should… cut myself some slack then start mingling with my co-workers.

But ‘how’? Beats me. I should start talking to them, at least. Small talks and all.

Yep. That’s it. Talk.

And I think I should go talk to this girl on the Drive-thru. I always catch her glancing at me, as if she wanted to talk. Or maybe there’s something wrong with the way I look, or the way I act. The paranoid in me suggests that.

No, no, no. Of course it’s impossible that she’s actually laying her eyes on me – me looking like crap, with my simian origins very evident on my sub-anthropomorphic face. If one can call this a ‘face’.

Then why is she looking at me like that? It’s kinda intriguing. Maybe she, too, is looking for someone to talk to, since we’re both new in here. I guess it’s quite lonely and boring there on the Drive-thru’s Window 1. Maybe I should talk to her; my shift is now over anyways.

Ugh. Cut it. Maybe later…

Wait. Did she just say ‘hello’ to me? Oh Lord. She’s now smiling at me. I’m wondering how she managed to look too cute in that uniform.

2. EVIDENCE

The available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid. In terms of close encounters, it refers to the set of data that supports a sighting.

So… just like what I suspected. It’s true: she’s got a crush on me. I mean, she did say she has a poor eyesight, but I didn’t realize that it was that bad. Poor girl.

Or rather, ‘poor me’.

Had I not overheard it from her girl-friends, I wouldn’t have known about it.

How should I know? ‘Twas totally unexpected – a pretty girl like her, liking an extraterrestrial like me. I must be dreaming.

Any sane guy would surely make a move on her as soon as possible, but me: I’m out of my mind. Besides, I just don’t… feel like having a girlfriend yet. After all, we’re friends and I’m contented with that.

I wonder what time she’ll be ‘in’ tomorrow. Haven’t had a decent conversation with her for days now. This conflict in our schedules just sucks balls. If we can afford some free time together, I’ll buy her that ice cream that she’s always been craving for.

By the way… why am I always thinking of her? This is just weird.

3. CONTACT

Any form of visual, physical, verbal, and even mental interaction that occurred between a human and an alien being.
