Dad was in the library the whole time and mum was in the hall doing... God knows what, her IPad lying on the couch.
The whole morning I was in my room playing the guitar as usual.
And in the afternoon right in the middle of the latest season of vampire diaries, daddy rang the bell!
Hey...but I knew what that meant! He had something to tell us from the books!
My cousin Jason was also in, he came the night before. He was the one I loved best in my family. And this morning he was with his band, you could hear from the loud beat even when you are in my room.
Jason and I rushed upstairs to the library and mum was already there.
Wow she's got fast legs there! I thought.
To our disappointment. Yep! We found a tiny black bag on that huge table.
"So... This is it." Jason asked with one eyebrow up.
And yeah... We had to know.
Dad opened the tiny bag and pulled out a huge, large and heavy white book with his right hand, and laid it on the table.
"OMG!" I murmured.
Was it magic? or maybe I felt dizzy.
But no!
Mum and Jason were as surprised as I was. And in ten seconds, writings appeared on the cover in black ink.
It said "THE BOOK OF ELLEN."
"The book of Ellen? Me?" I asked, or maybe that was a gift for my birthday next month.
My parents laughed. "No honey, Ellen was a young fighter who died years ago. She fought in many battles and won in all if them.
From Africa to Asia and from Asia back to Europe. Even though she was a rich young fighter and had won in all of her battles, she wasn't satisfied. She wanted the Golden Shield in her arms.
She wanted the world to see her as the most powerful. She wanted to kill her only coach and master "Elias III" and snatch the Golden Shield from him.
But she died young and without completing her last mission and wish. And now as the books say and based on my research, she has returned." Dad narrated as he looked down.
"But if she died years ago, why is she now coming. How and why? Please don't tell me its because of the Golden Shield." Jason laughed and shook his head.
I glared at him and he stopped.
Mum walked to him and placed her arms around him. "The book... darlen the book says." She smiled.
"This is freaking me out!" I yelled.
"Yeah El, maybe this is going to be the worst of the books." Jason added staring at the book like he was now learning his ABCs.
"No kids... Ok yeah mommy doesn't want to lie so she must admit, it's a bit scary." Mum said and turned to face dad.
"I told you this was a bad idea to tell them." Mum whispered into dad's ear, but as smart as we were we got to hear it.
Dad took his his seat and placed the book in front of him.
"Daddy is going to read a page for you." He said flipping pages.
