"Right... And we're here... Chapter XI." He read as we came closer and sat by him.
"It was seen and heard that many years ago Ellen Surash the great young fighter died of the desire for the Golden Shield.
She decided to cross a forbidden river in an unknown place, on her way to kill Master Ellen III who adopted and raised her.
Her life was taken from her when she was trapped and drowned by some weeds and thorns in this river.
She believed that some creatures in this river called mermaids did this to her, and cursed the river before her death.
And since then, anyone who drunk or step or swim in it, was to go through the same way she died.
Even though she was dead, her soul wasn't. She made it clear that she would return for the Golden Shield.
As one would say just a shield made of gold that brings riches and fame. She died for it and will still return for it?"
"Yeah! It doesn't make sense. I mean... You know... Just for a shield." I interrupted dad.
"Honey... Daddy is getting there." Mum glanced at me.
"Oh." I frowned.
"Yes, she died and still wants it, but no, it isn't just a golden shield. It is made of circles and in the last hollow and small circle a potion is hidden in there.
A glass of maroon liquid that does so many wonderful things. She wanted to drink it to become powerful.
But she died young and decided to come back when Master Ellen III is no more. Then she would have the potion, become alive again and kill the mermaids.
But it wouldn't be right. It is stated that anyone who steps in or drinks from the river has three days to pour this potion called "The Ermaline" into the river.
And end this curse or he shall drown and die as Ellen did.
Also, when the ermaline is poured into the river, Ellen is killed the second time and the mermaids are saved.
Mmmmh.... And that's the end of page XI of book of Ellen." Dad sighed after a long period of reading.
Now everything was clear to me.
Well, I felt tired sitting down listening to all this. I thought it was going to be like the other normal books.
"Okay, we've all heard what came from the book. We gotta becareful in every move and especially to you Jason you like escaping from groups and playing ball in pools and rivers, when you go on camping." Dad said pointing at Jason.
"Well... Thank God, we're done with this Ellen Susi.. Sushi Su-"
"Mum it's Surash." I interrupted.
"Yeah.. Right... Let's go have supper!" Mum said clapping.
"Yes!" We yelled in excitement. You could see from our faces that we were starving.
"But... That's that mean the earth is going to be haunted?" I asked fearfully.
"El, sometimes the world is haunted." Mum smiled.
"Maybe not sometimes, but every time. We just don't see." Dad added standing up.
Jason yawned.
We stood up and went downstairs to the dining hall. In five minutes we were done eating. Wow.
