4 - Chasing Nala

Zoe's POV (ooo new person ;) )

"They would be so cute together," I mumble to Alfie.

"What was that little one?" 

"They would be cute together."

"Who?"

"Alison and Joe duh." Alfie laughs at me.

"Weren't you the one saying to me they better not like each other." 

"Well if they broke up it would be awkward."

"That's true."

"In fact I've never seen Joe try so hard to impress someone." I thought for a moment. "You don't think he likes her do you?"

"You only just realised?!" Alfie laughs. "Tell me you at less noticed she likes him?"

"Not really..." I say rather embarrassed.

"Oh little one." Alfie chuckles pulling me close.

Alison's POV

I got back from a lecture that day and flopped onto the sofa. I lay there for a few moments before I heard a knock at the door. I knew Alfie and Zoe were out so I when to answer it.

"Hey," Joe said as I opened it.

"Hey, Zoe and Alfie aren't in but..." 

"I know." He cut me off mid sentence.

"Well why are you here?" As Joe opens his mouth to speak Nala goes charging out the front door. I look and see the gates closed luckily which means she can't go onto the road but I still have to get her back. Joe just stands laughing. "We better catch her."

"Yeah," Joe replies. We spend the next hour trying to catch Nala until she finally gets tired and gives up. By the end me and Joe are no more than a pile of giggles. "Alan you should run away more often," laughs Joe. "That was fun."

"Yeah," I agree. This was the first I wasn't all awkward around him so I had Nala to thank for that. The butterflies are going mad in my tummy though. 

"How about a pizza to celebrate?" 

"That sounds amazing!" We go inside and Joe orders two pizzas. Then we sit in the cozy room. "Film?" I ask. Joe nods and we look through netflix until we find something we like just as the pizzas get here. We eat our pizza and after chasing Nala all day I'm exhausted and soon I fall asleep. 

Joe's POV

She's so freaking cute. Alison had fallen asleep a while ago probably after us chasing Nala for so long and she now had her head rested on my shoulder fast asleep. Jeez she's just like Zoe can't stay awake during a film. Having her beside me made me so calm and relaxed. I kissed the top of her head and fell asleep myself.

Zoe's POV

"Alfie," I whispered as we came in. "Come here."

"What is it gorgeous?" He comes over to me wrapping his arms around me.

"Look at them." Joe and Alison were asleep on the sofa, Alison's head on Joe's shoulder and Joe's head onto of hers. They looked so peaceful.

"You were right this morning," Alfie whispered. 

"About what?"

"Then being cute together." I giggled and we went upstairs to bed.

Alison's POV

I woke up on the sofa where I fell asleep. I looked up and realised my head was lying on Joe's shoulder. He was fast asleep looking adorable to be honest. Not realising he was awake I stared at is peaceful sleeping face. I toke in the moment knowing there probably wouldn't be another one.

"Why are you staring at me?" He said in his morning voice.

"Umm..." I didn't know how to respond. My face when bright red I could tell.

"Come here." He smirked wrapping his arms around me pulling me close to him then he closed his eyes again. I drifted back to sleep. 

A while later I woke up and knew I wouldn't be going to sleep again as I began to try and get up I felt Joe's grip tighten. "5 more minutes..." He mumbled. I just laughed burying my head in his chest still trying to figure out how we got here. "Alison?" He mumbled.

"Yeah?"

"Would you... maybe.. like to go to dinner with me?" He looked down at me. He seemed so nervous.

"I'd love to." I didn't expect it at all but I was happy he asked me. Eventually after cuddling for ages we got up. 

"I'll come and pick you up at 6 okay?" 

"Okay." I replied. 

"I gotta go but I'll see you tonight." 

"Bye" I went up on my tip toes and kissed his cheek he seemed surprised but not angry then he left.

"What was that about?" Zoe could tell she scared me as she was laughing.

"My god you scared me." 

"Stop dodging the question." She laughed and I blushed. 

"Ummmm..." 

"It's fine I can guess." She laughed. "Where's he taking you?" 

"Wait your okay with this?" 

"I'm happy for you both. It's obvious you both like each other like a lot.... well to everyone expect me. Alfie told me." We both laughed. " And I know you a good girl plus my mum already likes you." We laugh again. 

"Thank you for being so cool about this Zoe." 

"Anytime." 

"Oh umm Zoe?"

"Yeah?"

"Could you help me get ready later?"

"Of course! I was hoping you would ask!" We both laughed. 

Bang on 5 o'clock there was a knock at the door. Zoe opened it. "Hi Joe."

"Hi."

"She's just upstairs give me two minutes to get her."

"Okay." 

This was it I was about to go. "Alison, Joe's here."

"I know I heard."

"Ready?" She asked.

"Do I look okay?"

"You look gorgeous." 

"Thank you for you help Zoe." 

"Anytime." She gives me a hug. " Have fun." I smile and go downstairs.
