Chapter 4- Friendships

The next morning I get up out of bed my bottom hurt from last night I get dressed and I walk downstairs I smell pancakes my mouth waters I am so very hungry, I hope papa isn't angry at me anymore.

"Morning darling" He says with a smile.

Phew he isn't angry anymore.

"Morning papa" I said.

My belly made a loud rumble.

"Are you hungry dol?" He asks.

"Very papa" I said.

"Well sit down I will put the pancake on your plate" Papa said.

I sat down I flinched it hurt real bad so I got a cushion and I sat down on it.

"Here you go honey" Papa said.

"Thank you" I said.

"Tuck in" Papa said.

I took my cutlery and I cut a bit of my pancake and I put in my mouth the taste was lovely I kept eating until I was full.

"Are you full?" Papa asks.

I nodded.

He got up and took my plate and put it away.

"Hazel I am going on a date later at twelve so I won't be back until one" Papa said.

"OK, who is it with papa?" I asked.

"It is with a girl I met yesterday her name is Lucy she is very pretty and very nice" Papa said.

"OK papa I hope it goes well" I said.

"Me to darling" Papa said.

Later when papa had gone I went to the park and I saw Rhodes.

"Hey I thought you weren't going to come" Rhodes said.

"I thought I would wait my papa is going on a date with someone so I can't stay too long" I said.

"OK do you want to exchange numbers?" He asked.

"We shouldn't my papa my find it and I don't want to be punished" I said.

"Well how are we going to talk to each other?" He asks.

"I know where you live if I want to hang out with you I will come to yours" I said.

"That is a good way" Rhodes said.

"Of course it is" I said.

"So what do you want to do?" He asks.

"Tip" I say I touch his arm and I start bouncing to the side.

"Really? That is for babies" Rhodes said.

"What are you worried you won't catch me?" I asked.

"Wo back up, I can catch you I am well fast" He said.

"Prove it" I said.

"No I am not playing a kiddy game" He said.

I stopped and I stood in front of him.

"Are you chicken?" I asked.

I started clicking and flapping my arms at him.

"Chicken" I said.

He then tips me and runs off.

"Hey" I said I chased him.

"That's not fair you cheated" I said.

He really is a fast runner but so am I.

"Tip" I catch him.

Then I start running away from him. I start to laughter as he gets closer.

I didn't realise how fast I was going until I fell over.

"Are you ok?" He asks.

"Yep, help me up" I said.

He gives me his hand and helps me up.
Once I get up our hands are still touching.

"Tip" he said.

I stared chasing him again.

"Rhodes, I have to get going now" I said.

"Aww that is a shame" He said.

"Sorry I have to, see you maybe later" I said.

"Remember to come and get me" he said.

"I will" I said.

I start to walk away I get home just in time because papa gets home just after me.

"Hey Papa how was your date?" He asks.

"It was good, I gave her a kiss goodbye and we said we would see each other again tomorrow is that alright?" He asked.

"Yeah that is fine papa" I said.

That means I can go and see Rhodes again tomorrow, my bum doesn't hurt anymore I am happy about that now.

"I will start making tea" I said.

"OK honey" Papa said.

I walked into the kitchen and I looked at what we had I decided to make pizza.
