A few weeks went by after Marina had the encounter with Bruce. Everyday she thought about him. Finally she made a bold choice. She knew Bruce was at Drew's house,so she walked up the hill and walked into the basement. "Hi guys." Her soft voice called out. "Hey Bruce....What's your number?" He heart raced and her palms started sweating. He finally gave her his number. She walked home. Part of her was embarrassed, because knowing Drew, he would make it a huge deal that she asked for Bruce's number. A few days later she called him. The phone rang for a few seconds. "Hey, Bruce?" "Yep. Hey Marina." He knew her voice like the back of his hand. It was quiet and soft. "I was wondering if you wanted to go see a movie...then get a milkshake afterwards."
"Sounds great! How's 3:30?" Bruce asked "Great! See you soon!" Marina jumped up and went to her closet. "Hmmm. I need to make it good." She picked out a pink top. It was really long and flowed. Then she found some black leggings to go with it. She walked up to a mirror and checked her outfit. "Perfect."
Finally 3:30 came. She heard a knock on the door. "Hey Bruce. Lets go." They rode bikes down the rode to the theatre. "What do you wanna watch?" He asked. "I don't know. Something funny. How about Inside Out? I've been wanting to see it ever since the previews started playing.". "Sounds good! Lets go." They got popcorn and nachos. It was a lot of fun for Marina to be with her crush, but she knew it wasn't a date.
When the movie was over, they went across the street to Monica's Milkshakes. "I'm getting a vanilla one. What about you, Marina?" Bruce asked her. "Same. Vanilla is my favorite." They sat in the booth drinking milkshake and just talking. It was a lot of fun.
Sorry for the crappy chapter, it's 2 am and I've got school tomorrow :(
