Chapter 2

Casey's POV

I fluttered my eyes open and looked around. This isn't my room. The bright sunlight burned through the curtains of my empty room.

I felt something wet and sticky licking my hand. I looked over and saw the most cutest dog I have ever seen. It was a black Labrador with one blue and and one green eye. Aww!

I smiled and sat up from my laying position. The dog backed up a few steps as I sat up and leaned towards the dog. I petted its head as it rubbed the side of its head on my knee.

I giggled and jumped off my cover less bed. All my boxes and luggage was on the floor, waiting to be unpacked. I took off my shoes and set them underneath my bed and walked in my socks down stairs.

I saw Chase passed out on the sofa and a middle aged woman cooking something in the kitchen. She must have noticed me.

"Oh! My niece!" she set down her cooking utensils and walked to me and gave me a hug.

I, of course hugged her back. "I've heard so much about you"

I nodded my head and slightly laughed at Chase's sleeping position. I walked up to him and jumped on his figure. He jumped up immediately and we fell off the couch with a groan.

"Why do you always do this?" he groaned.

"Cause I like your reactions" I giggled next to him.

Chase turned so he was facing me and lightly smiled. "You know.. we're starting school tomorrow" he spoke looking at me.

"I know" my voice soft.

"Did you meet Tucker yet?" he asked sitting up.

"The dog? Yeah he woke me up" I laughed at the memory.

"Oh, do you like him?" my aunt asked washing her hands in the kitchen sink.

"He's adorable"

"Aunt,-"

"Call me Aunt Liz" she smiled at me cutting me off.

"Aunt Liz, after breakfast can I go exploring outside?" I ask putting a pancake on my plate.

"Sure, but when you get back, you should start unpacking your room, dear" she smiled at me. I nodded and started eating my food.

"These are really good, Aunt Liz" Chase spoke with a mouthful of pancakes.

"Aren't you going to eat?" I asked her.

"N-No, I prefer a different diet" she smiled lightly at us. Um... okay.

Me and Chase ate our pancakes in silence.

I finished my pancakes and out the plate in the sink and walked up to my bed room. I opened my clothing box and took out a pair of shorts, and a t-shirt. I slipped my hair in a ponytail and my converse.

I walked back downstairs and to the front door. "Wait! I'll come with you" chase spoke running towards me.

"Okay"

We walked outside and the bright morning air hit us immediately. Chase sighed and blinked, adjusting to the sun.

We walked along the sidewalk for about 10 minutes, before we got tired and sat on a nearby bench.

I tightened my ponytail and heard a couple voices walking by. They were a group of boys, about 16-18, walking together. One guy winked at me making me blush. Chase scowled.
