What I Didn't Expect

Chapter 8

Tess's P.O.V

Today has been such a strange day. And when I mean strange I mean strange. Turns out the guy who saved my life, Damien, is Angel's older brother. And I'm just taking a guess here but I'm thinking they don't like each other very much, or at least not a lot. Then again all the venom coming out of Angel's mouth did give me a big hint. Who knew they were brothers? They don't look like each other at all. Then again I have no right to say anything about them but still... it's just so weird that there brothers. And you know what's weirder? Angel told me stay away from Damien because he is "dangerous". Like I said weird.

Well whatever I guess, right now its art class and all I want to think about it my art. The whole class was already here so I took the only seat available, which is by the window. I started opening some paints and started taking my brush and slowly swirl and twirl it into the paint. I lifted my hand up and started painting whatever came to on the canvas. The thing is I paint whatever comes to. It's kind of like a talent I guess. I heard a little cough from the person next to me and I lifted my head up to see who was next to me. Sweat beads were forming on my head and I clumsily took my hand wiped them away. The boy kept staring at me and I kept staring at him. He had shaggy brown hair that hit him shy above his green eyes. He had good build and skin that looked so soft and creamy almost like a baby's bottom. I glanced away quickly and sighed. I looked down at my shoes feeling my cheeks burn with embarrassment. I looked at his shoes. Black Converse. Nice. I slowly started looking at his clothes. Tattered skinny jeans and a slipknot shirt until I finally met his face. He smiled a million dollar smile and I smiled back.

"Hey, I'm Aiden. I'm just guessing here but you must be Tess, yes?"

"Yup. How did you know?" I smiled even bigger.

"Lucky guess. So how do you like Farmingdale High School?" His voice was like silk, smooth and rich.

"It's okay. But I do like the other classes they offer. In my old school they didn't have any of these classes. I'm pretty happy there offering it here"

"Which classes you're taking other than the regular blah ones?" I laughed a little at him saying blah. I couldn't help it gosh!

"Well there's art, which is pretty obvious. I'm also taking photography, French, Italian, music, journalism, and free writing."

"Wow that's a lot for a girl. I'm taking art, music, and Spanish."

"Oh cool. I would take Spanish but I already know Spanish and pretty tired of it as well. But to tell the truth I'm more of the sit at home head banging to scream music and rocking to Paramore then actually going to after school clubs and stuff. The good thing is this is all during school so it doesn't mess up with my music time" I smiled after. That's probably the longest I've ever talked to anyone to tell the truth. Or at least at once anyways.

"Well it's nice to have someone to talk to during music and art" I smiled while he was saying it the talking the whole time.

"It really is nice."

Just then the bell rang and I groaned. I heard Aiden laughing so I laughed along with him. I looked at my art work and it really surprised me this time. I had no clue what so ever that I actually painted Aiden! I saw Aiden peeking over my shoulder at my artwork at grinned widely.

"Wow you really do have a talent for art, Tess."

"Can I see yours?"

"Sure! No problem!" I saw his cheeks flush a little bit and saw excitement written in his deep sea green eyes.
