Hi guys! I'm so happy that this story is going so well. With all the hearts, reads and comments, I really appreciate and thank you all. As a special, I wanted to write this extra for fun and to thank you all for the support. And as an apology for such a late update. I saw this picture and immediately thought of a sweet scenario for reader and Soldier 76. Hope you guys enjoy it.

.The omnic crisis continued to rage on. Rogue machines roamed the streets, causing people to flee in utter fear for their lives. As if this wasn't enough, terrorist groups used the war as an opportunity to rule their towns. Causing more fear for the innocent.
Your town was no exception. It was a small town so it obviously made it an easy target for both omnions and terrorists. Many of the civilians managed to escape, some were taken captive as hostages. And some were left behind to run the dark streets. You were one of them. You were separated from your parents and was trying to find them. You hoped that they were in the safety of the camps on the far end of the town so you tried to find your way there. But these kind of conditions were never safe for a person, especially a child.
You slowly crept close to the walls, shivering to the sounds of distant gun fires. All you wanted was to be in your mother's safe arms. You were about to step out when you saw a shadow approaching. Realising its one of those robots, you quickly hid back behind the wall. Crouching low with your arms wrapping tightly around your legs, you froze as its loud steps approached closer to you.
As you whispered a silent prayer of protection, you heard loud gun shots, yelping in fear and covering your ears. They soon stopped and a loud thump followed after. You gained the courage to peak out and saw a tall man standing in front of the destroyed machine, holding a large gun. He had blonde hair and was wearing a blue soldier's uniform. Then your eyes went to the crest of his uniform and you immediately recognised him as one of those heroes that fight for justice. Immediately feeling relieved, you ran towards him and hugged his leg.
You heard the man gasp and stiffen at your sudden body contact. A moment of silence passed and you looked up. His blue orbs stared down at you in shock, mouth slightly agape. He then knelt down to your level to take a closer look.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" He murmured in shock. He must have gotten a call as he looked away and answered his transmitter. "Yeah, I finished up this area. No, but I found this kid here. Yeah...I'll bring her over to the camp. Over."
"Are you going to bring me to my parents sir?" You quietly asked, small hands clamped together.
"Yeah. This kind of place is not safe for a kid like you. I'm amazed you managed to stay alive for this long. Come on." He then carried me in his large arms, placing me close to his chest. It felt different from when your Father carries you. You felt...more safe in this position, thus snuggling closer to his chest.
Jack was still utterly surprised at that moment. What were the chances he would find a child in the middle of a battle field, alive. But all that mattered now was that he protects this child. It's gonna be a hassle but what choice does he have? Jack took extra precaution as he moved through the broken city, keeping a protective arm over the girl's head. He could only hope that back up would come soon. As he moved down the streets, his ears picked up soft yet familiar thumping sounds and quickly hid behind the wall. The girl was about to say something but Jack quickly shushed her and she obediently complied.
You saw the man peek out and you did the same, spotting five omnics slowly walking towards you. The man clicked his tongue and softly put you down while getting his large gun out.
