Jordan

Jordan knows what it feels like to want. She has been feeling it all her life.

As I walked in the door to my small 3 room apartment Buddy ran around the corner and rammed into me leaving breathless. Behind Buddy I saw my two little brothers giggling. Apparently the sight of me wheezing is funny. Who knew? When I finally stopped seeing stars I kneeled down and patted Buddy on the head. "Hey boy", I cooed "Excited to see me? I haven't been gong that long!"

When I looked up from Buddy I saw Dad walk into the room. He looked sad, and I was worried why. When I got up to talk to him he led me to the kitchen while the boys went off to... well whatever little boys do. Anyway, in the kitchen my Dad thought it was a good idea to give me the worst news first. I don't think it was. Mainly because after I heard I ran away trying not to cry but failing. I ran out of the door to the only place I could call my own. The old abandoned park. While I ran there I thought about my misfortune. My parents can't pay for my sports anymore. I should have seen this coming at some point, but it is still a shocker. Sports are my life. It is the only thing I am good at! I literallly live, breathe and eat sports. I needs sports. I can't imagine a life without them. No way do I want to become one of those really prissy girls. My Dad must know that! How can he do this to me? But, even with all her anger, she knew there was nothing her Dad could do. Nothing anyone could do.

On the walk back home she realized what she would miss. What she has been planing for months. The trip to see the National Soccer Team play in Las Vegas. Her travel team was going to go watch that together. Now, she wouldn't be able to go. This thought made fresh tears flow from Jordan's eyes. But, like she thought earlier, there is nothing anyone could do.

At least, that is what she thought...
