The starry she-cat yowls a battle cry and runs towards me, unfolding her wings. I display an equal amount of anger at the mystery cat who just killed my clanmate. Her body hits mine with force, but I stand my ground.

"Who the heck do you think you are?!" I growl into her ear.

In reply, she sneers back, "Nightshade, you mouse-brain!"

My eyes widen as I am confused. "Wha..?"

Just as I let my guard down, Nightshade uses her back paws to kick me across the snow field. She laughs evilly and spits on the ground.

"It's funny actually!" Nightshade exclaims with a crazy look in her eyes. "Once I died and went to the Dark Forest, my fur went back to normal. It only makes sense when you realize that my fur from before wasn't natural!"

Hollyjay, Firelight, and Tempestclaw rush over to me and help me up.

Nightshade licks her lips in delight. "That little flea-pelt somehow walked in my dreams, so she had to be dealt with accordingly. It's only understandable, you know. I can't have anyone interfering with my plans, and it seems you might have gotten in the way too, Silverstar."

"You fox-heart!" Firelight's eyes rage with, well, fiery light. "You killed someone just because they saw you in a dream?! What kind of cat are you?!"

Nightshade rolls her eyes. "Oh, get over it. It's not like I deserved to die anyway!"

Tempestclaw is the first to voice the one thing on our minds. "Wait. If you're dead, how are you here? It's impossible!"

"Yah," I say. "And how did you supposedly change your appearance?"

She flaps her wings and smirks. "It's called, I had a good mentor who knew things. Now I think that's all for now, but just be aware that I will kill you eventually, but I think now is not the right time. Let's let you suffer the way I did, Silverstar!"

Before leaving, she barrels into me and gives me a good slash on my face. I yelp in pain, but before I can do anything, Nightshade vanishes into thin air.

"That was not good," Tempestclaw meows slowly. "We need to move, but Splashmoon...."

His voice cracks and everyone becomes really quiet. Random attacks like this could not be predicted, and we thought they were over anyway.

Firelight is the first to break out in tears and rushes to Splashmoon's body. Firelight had been close to Splashmoon, and I'm sure it's hard for her to see her dead.

Grimly, I meow in solace, "We're to far from camp to bring her back. We'll have to bury her here."

Firelight raises her head and cries into the sky, "I'll kill that fox-heart! I'll rip every shred from her body for this! Splashmoon didn't deserve this! She didn't deserve to die...."

Her words fade into sobs.

"The thing is," I mutter faintly, the tears and blood blurring my vision, "How do you kill someone who's already dead?"
