"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Everyone around me cheers.

I smile and an arm wraps around my waist and a pair of soft lips crashes onto mine.

*Before*

"Mum what time is Mr and Mrs Smiths New Years party at again?" I say as she walk into my room and lays down the dress I will be wearing tonight for the New Years party.

"It's at 7 but we are leaving at half six so we can be there early." She says.

Mr and Mrs Smith are really close to my mum and dad and they hired out a hall to host a New Years party. They aren't posh or anything they just wanted to celebrate New Years with their closest friends and family and we got invited. I've never been really close with them. I have only met them and their son twice and they seemed nice.

And my mate Blake is going as well!

It's currently 4 and I think to myself I should get ready.

"Okay, I'm going to get ready now." I say and get off my bed and walk into my en-suite and turn on the shower.

I wash my hair and it takes me about 20 years to wash it because it's so long oops.

I hop out and wrap a towel around my body and my hair.

I walk back into my room and look at the dress my mum laid out for me.

It's a black skater dress with flowers on it (A/N the dress in the pic at the start lol) There are also matching black open toe heels and a pink clutch bag.

I sit down at my dresser and do my make up and dry my hair and put a few loose curls in it.

It's about quarter past six and I am in my dress and about to put on my heels when my phone rings.

M: Hello

B:Hey, it's Blake I was just wondering what time you will be here at, me Reece and George are setting up the stage to preform.

I also forgot to mention that my mate is in a band with two other boys and they are preforming at the party!

M:uhh we are leaving at half so we will see u at quarter too maybe?

B: okay cool see you soon!

M: okay bye.

I hang up and slip on my shoes and put my phone in my bag and head down the stairs.

"All ready to go?" My mum says to me.

I nod as me, my mum, dad and little brother all head out the front door and into the car and we set off for the party.

It's about a ten minute drive and we arrive at the venue.

We all walk in together and we are offered drinks at the door.

"Oh, fancy!" I say and lift a glass before my mum hits my hand.

"You're too young to drink!" My mum says and hen she takes one and walks in through the door.

"The red ones are alcohol free." The waiter whispers at me and I take a glass filled with a red sparkling liquid.

I walk into the venue and there is legit no one here, well not yet.

I see the stage at the other end of the room and walk towards it where I see Blake and his friends.

"Melissa!" Blake says and walks towards me.
