PART ONE

When they were on the train together, they didn't notice that the other was there for the first 50 miles or so, despite them being some of the only people in the empty train carriage.

Jonah Edwards kept his headphones on, different tracks bleeding through, alerting everyone around him that a) he was listening to rock music and b) he was listening way to loud for his own good. Georgia Wing was there the whole time, only a seat or two away with her head buried in her laptop. She was meant to be brain storming a new song but her mind was elsewhere... every now and then when she looked up from her tumblr feed, she would pick up the chorus of some rock band, but she couldn't work out where it was coming from. Around her, her manager and security guard were sleeping soundly.

Should he have looked up, Jonah would have recognised the face of Georgia Wing, winner of 'Album of the Year' sitting just a seat away. He would have had a short battle inside before maybe starting a conversation or asking for a picture. Of course, he knew he would never do something like that. She was *the* Georgia Wing for crying out loud - amazing song writer and minor (major) celebrity crush.

They were subconsciously planning on being strangers as they sat across from each other on the train, never actually making any interaction with each other. The man who had gotten off at the last stop, leaving his backpack behind him in an adjoining carriage had different ideas.

When it went off, havoc reined. Nobody in the carriage could see more than a foot infront of them in any direction, all the electricity had blown, the smell of smoke was thick in the air and the ring from the explosion had left everyones ears in too much agony to attempt to think anything coherent. Jonah's head phones had fallen off in the panic and Georgia's laptop was no longer anywhere to be seen and her entourage lay on the floor, just as unconscious as they had been before and luckily still breathing.

Amongst the uprooted seats and the topped suit cases they met. Jonah was the first solid thing that Georgia had been able to find and she held onto him for all she was worth. Jonah, suddenly finding another person gripping onto him, gently pulled himself to him feet through the haze in his mind, dragging her along by the arm trying to find somewhere safe for them to hide, or at least exist for the next who-knows-how-long until help came. Finding a small corner, they wedged themselves behind a large suit case. Who it belonged to, they would never find out.

By now the smoke and muck in the air was slowly beginning to clear and the horror in front of them was beginning to make itself known. There were a few people on the floor coughing, someone trapped under a bit of train compartment. Some were unconscience but on the whole everyone was fine. At least in this carriage. By now it was beginning to get dark outside and due to the long journey through large stretches of English county side from Manchester to London there was very little around to get help. No phone signal either.

Jonah began to talk about having to 'wait it out' and that 'help would have to be on its way as soon as they realised that the train had lost communication, when the realised the train hadn't reached its destination', trying to be as reassuring as possible when Georgia suddenly burst into tears. Ugly sobs emitted through to almost silent carriage. Georgia had felt the attack coming before she had broken down but there was nothing to be done now. Here she was in front of a random person whom she had just met, in tears and breathing too fast, having a total melt down, despite the fact that she was meant to be on her way to a big interview and she couldn't go to an interview after this and—! It couldn't be helped.

Jonah didn't know what to do, he had never been put into a situation like this before. Then again, not many people ever had been in a situation like this before. He slowly moved round so he was next to Georgia Wing (omg) and tenderly wrapped his around her shoulder hoping to calm her down or at least reduce the sobbing. Georgia turned to lean against him, the sobs still not subsiding and even though the smell of dust and gun powder were evident on his navy plaid shirt she found it so comforting that he didn't want him to leave his side.

After a few minuets of him whispering relaxing thoughts into her ear and calmly twirling her hair between his fingers that Jonah had calmed Georgia down to the point of her being able to construct a fully legible sentence. She apologised for the panic attack saying that they didn't happen often and thanked him for calming her down. Despite Jonah saying it was fine, she was still embarrassed that it had happened.

Georgia then went on to ask him name, where he was from and to generally get to know him. It didn't happen often that she got the chance to find out about people. Smiling, he answered the questions.

They were soon laughing together over television characters and music, as they tried to muffle their voices as not to make too much noise. They found themselves forgetting the ridiculous situation they had found themselves in, with light shining from their phones as they tried to stop the cold that was beginning to creep into their bones. Between their thin layers of clothing and body warmth they had made it so far. It wasn't to last.
