I stood there shocked. What did he just say? That made no sense. I wanted to laugh again. But I didn't. I felt that if I did he would something much worse than just yell.

"What?" My voice was barely audible, I was surprised he had heard it.

"I will visit you every night."

"No." I said simply turning to leave but I was stopped once again.

"You can't say 'no'." He growled.

"I just did."

"It is a deal."

"Why do you need to visit me 'every night'?" I asked, using my hand as air quotations.

"Because I can heal your brother. You are beautiful and I will have to keep an eye on you." He shrugged.

I blushed at his compliment, then mentally cursed myself for falling for his charm. I tried to move past him but didn't succeed then I groaned and let my head fall back.

"WHY!?" I yelled.

"Because you didn't agree to the deal."

Then reality hit me.

He can heal my brother!

"Yes anything to save my brother please!" I pleaded basically on my hands and knees.

"I already told you the agreement." I looked at him and realized something.

"I don't know your name."

"Neither do I yours." He looked straight into my eyes.

His eyes were beautiful. They weren't just brown. They held so many secrets. You could tell just by looking at them that he wasn't just your normal person. He had green spectacles in his eyes ,blended with his unique brown orbs.

"Ava Forest." I said before I thought about what I was doing.

"Matthew Evans." He answered.

"Fine." I agreed to his proposition.

"I will see you tonight." Then he vanished, just like that.

I looked around in search for him. How did he do that? I wonder if he was ever human.

Whilst I was walking home, I was thinking how he was going to heal my brother. Doctors didn't know how to heal him yet. How would he? A teenager ,like me. I can barely take care of both of us. Except maybe... OF COURSE! He's a creature of the night he can heal with his blood.  Now I remembered from my mothers stories. But is that true? Or is there another way?

Why did he have to visit every night? Why did he compliment me? I mean I'm not complaining, it's just odd. Reality hasn't hit me yet. Vampires exist. What about werewolves? Witches? Wizards? Ghosts? Do they exist?

Why did he have mercy on me? He could have killed me. But he didn't. He spared me. He could've ignored my pleads like the heartless monster he is supposed to be. But he didn't.

Before I knew it I was in front of my old wooden house's doors. I was nervous to inform my brother that he could be healed. I didn't know why though. Maybe Matthew was kidding. Or it wasn't going to work.

I pushed the heavy door open and stepped inside the house. I could smell fresh tea. Tim was probably brewing a new batch.

"TIM! " I called out to him and then heard shuffling from the kitchen.

Sudden excitement was in me. I was excited that maybe my brother could be healed! That we could finally live happily! Maybe we could build a shop together!

We would sell scones with clotted cream and jam served with a cup of hot, fresh tea. I would make the scones, we could both make the cream from our cows milk and we could make jam from the berries in our back yard. Timothy would make tea because he makes special earl grey tea.

"Yes?" My brothers innocent face appeared from the doorway.

"I have amazing news!" I clapped my hands.

"What is it sister? You are acting like you've found a cure." I stared at him a huge smile on my face, he stared back with a look of disbelief. "Are you serious? This is not a matter to be joking around with ,sister."

"But I am not fooling you brother. I met a bloke down the road and we started talking. One thing led to another and he said he could heal you!" I was jumping up and down by the time I had finished even though I felt extremely guilty for lying to him.

"Oh lord." He held his hand over his mouth as though he was going to be sick.

That wasn't the reaction I was waiting for. I stopped abruptly from jumping up and down.

"What is wrong, Tim?" I asked him taking his hand from over his mouth.

"Was he ,somehow, different?"

"What do you mean?" I asked getting confused and nervous.

He shook his head.

"Nothing. But I can't believe it Ava! I'm going to be healthy once again!" He started jumping up and down. I quickly shook off his odd behaviour and started jumping up and down happily with him.

"Yes, Tim. We can build our own shop! I can see it now! We would be the most famous tea shop in all of London! We would sell hot fresh scones with jam and clotted cream, and a side of your special Earl Grey tea!" I said joyfully whilst holding up a hand in front of the both of us as an exaggeration.

"We would call it 'Ava and Tim's Special Corner.'" He said. We both stopped jumping up and down and looked into the distance, sighing.

"One day we will be rich and we will both have families of our own." I sighed dreamily.

"We would live on the same street, opposite each other. Our children would play in the garden."

"Our children would inherit the shop and work together." I looked at him.

"I would have two boys and a beautiful wife." He looked at me.

"I would have one boy and one girl and a man who would be loyal and care for his family." I sighed again happily.

Then he leaned down and kissed my forehead.

"I love you, sister."  He whispered, hugging me.

"I love you too, brother. Promise me something." I whispered back.

"Anything."

"Never forget me." My voice cracked.

"I would never forget you." He said holding me tighter.
