Dead Space: The Beginning Of The End

Chapter 1 - The Necromorphs

"You can't give in now! You are too close!" Coreman heard while he was on the ground hurt, everything surrounding him was levitating or being pulled to the gigantic moon awaiting to be devoured, his helmet was damaged so he removed it. "You're right , %&#*. I can't let everyone down. I want to get out alive from this." He said as he stand up inmediatly and loaded his modified rifle. But, how did everything end like that? Let's go to the very beginning of Coreman's story.

It seemed to be a day just like the others, an endless routine of, wake up, drink coffee, go to work, return until 08:00 p.m, just like always. Joseph Coreman, a man of like 30 years old woke up at his department and had a view to the outside of the city, just as always, with posts of someone calling for the evolution of humanity, the name of that man, Jacob Arthur Danik. Claiming that the mankind's ascension was soon to begin. All the Unitologist shit everyone hears and most of the people like me consider ridiculous.

"Die and reborn as a new being" that religion said everyone the same thing again and again. But, without much interest to that, Coreman just decided to take a cup of coffee and wear his working suit, which was a single T-shirt and some pants.

He exited the department and went to do as always. Of course, he had some friends of work, another engineer called Alex Weber, an ex-soldier called Mark Ingram who works as the private security of Joseph and Alex's spot and a programming specialist named Jessica Hogan.

Once the train stopped in the entrance, they stand up and accessed with a card they handed out of their pockets. They logged in and proceeded to take their correspondent positions. Before they had at least sit comfy, a red siren began to noise over the whole installation. They were evacuated one by one. Coreman had a very bad feeling about what was happening then. Alex put his hand on Coreman's shoulder.

"Relax, Joseph," He said supportively. "everything is gonna be fi-" Before Alex could have finish his dialogue, an explosion muted him and everything shook. Mark called for them.

"Stay close to me" He said at the time his helmet began to arm covering his head. Alex, Joseph and Jessica nod in approval. Not even a second after that, a piece of wall broke and a Ubermorph growled as the lights turned off and were replaced by a red siren. The other people began to scream in shock and start to run away from it. Joseph and the others were disturbed by the only look of that thing. Knowing the doors sealed everyone, Alex broke a panel and began to hack the door. The ubermorph was being attacked by some guards, and every limb they cutted, every limb that regenerated. Despite the bullet rain that the Ubermorph recieved,it achieved to get one of the guards.

The Ubermorph crossed the torso of the guard and lifted and growled while him struggled to escape, unsuccessfully, the ubermorph cut the legs with his other arm. The RIG of the crying guard was almost black until the creature cut his head and half of his torso.

"Alex, how are you doing with the door?!" Asked Jessica desperate about what she just saw.

"I.... Am..." He mentioned as he was finishing with the door. Mark took his plasma cutter and chopped to half the ubermorph leaving it without legs. "Done!" He exclaimed as the door opened. Everyone ran into the door as people surrounding Joseph and the others were desperate. Joseph just thought for a moment and something came to his head.

"We are not safe in this crowd, we are calling that thing's attention in here." He said.

Jessica examined what Joseph just said. "I guess he is right, we are more silent being separate." Jessica said. "We have to get away from this people."

Suddenly, more necromorphs jumped from the ventilation. Mark inmediatly told them to follow. They ran following Mark while the necromorphs focused on the people they had left. Their screams, their panic and their pain was everything that could be heard in the halls of the building.
