I never thought people could control the rain. I never imagined all the power that came with it. And I never thought I could come back from the dead. But I did. And I can control the storm.

My lungs where burning from breathing so hard. What if he comes after me? What if I can't get away this time? What if I never make it back to the rest of my family? What if they all think I'm dead? I stopped dead in my tracks and repeated that last question over and over again. I wish mum could have found the courage to call the police or at least stand up for me, the urge to cry swept over my body but I needed to lock up the feelings of betrayal, hurt and fear because only anger would keep me going. I wiped the sweat from my forehead with the back of my hand but didn't bother with my tear stained cheeks because I know with them there I can keep going, keep holding on. The rain trickled down my neck and began to pour heavily. Lightning shined up ahead with the promised thunder it brings, I began to run again. I felt as if I've been running forever but if I stop now he will catch up to me and I would lose everything I tried desperately to gain. How do I even know if he's following me? but I'm not taking any chances. The lightning cracked again and I saw a figure; finally someone who might be able to help me. Hope sparked in my heart, spreading warmth as I came closer and closer to the silhouette that was shaped like a man.

"Please help me" I screamed.

The man stopped and began to search the forest.

"Someone! Anyone! Please" I cried. The figure began to run through the pouring rain and in my direction. As he got closer I stopped horrified. No, please not him. I stood in front of him frozen. Then in a few quick movements I was on the ground with pain shooting up my back and my face stinging.

"Bad Sam" my father said with sick humour. His fist came down and connected with my face sending pain through my entire body. Black dots appeared in my vision and I felt my eyes quickly shutting. Something hard hit my stomach and I rolled over pulling my legs to my chest, he really is going to kill me this time. I saw the lightning behind my closed eyes and waited for the final blow but it came a lot quicker than I expected. My train of thought stopped and I fell to the ground.
