Recap:

“Did the medicine help your pain?” Philip snickered

I continued to stare at him with a burning kind of hate.

“You’re a terrible actor” he added and slapped me hard against the face.

“Just kill me” I said lamely. I’d rather just die than be tortured and then eventually killed.

“Nope, I’m going to give you to Bloom” he laughed loudly, like he had just told the funniest joke in the world.

He then proceeded to punch me even harder against the head, slamming me into a state of unconsciousness.

You never really realise the kind of person you are until you are in a desperate need for help. Some run away, while others just cower and hide. For me, all I could seem to do for the whole day was drift in and out of consciousness despite the intense amount trouble I was in.

“Why did you bring her here?” I heard Bloom scream to Philip. She sounded pretty damn angry, the cave around me shook.

“I thought that’s what you wanted” he choked out. She must have been strangling him.

“No. That was not my plan. For God’s sake Phillip, did I ask you to bash her head in?”

There was silence and more gurgling as well as choking. Poor Phil was copping it.

“She better wake up from this Philip and if she doesn’t I swear to God it’ll be your head on the chopping block!”

I had no idea why she wanted me to wake up so badly. Couldn’t she just kill me now? Almost as worrying as my damaged body was the fact that I had no recollection as to how and why I woke up in this leaky cave. It smelled absolutely rotten and there was a constant dripping noise.

I vaguely remember some kind of mission in a tree house to kill Philip but apparently that didn’t work out. He must have been working with her and now, as a lovely result, I was probably going to die soon. Great.

I tried to move my legs but to no avail. I moaned a little in disdain.

“It is imperative she wakes up. I need her memory”

She sounded a little insane.

Oh wait. She was.

I drifted out of consciousness again.

I must have lain in the cave for hours. My head was incredibly sore and my legs were still numb. How did Bloom even get her hands on numbing cream? It was an incredibly expensive and extravagant gift, what kind of following did she have? Who would send her that? I had never heard of this kind of thing happening in the games, especially one that wasn’t part of the quarter quell.

Sometimes I would wake up and hear voices, but most of the time it was only me in the cave. It was nearly night fall by now and the stars beginning to emerge. Whenever I felt scared I would grab onto my bracelet. It was a gift from Avery and she told me it would keep me safe. I had no idea how, I think she was just trying to be nice to me as I was about to face the 87th Hunger Games as a  defenceless sitting duck. Lucky, Zane taught me a few things and I also had Trouble with me to get me through these games. She meant everything to me. Then there was Arrow.

I shot up.

“Arrow” I gasped.

And Trouble! What happened to them? They might have gotten captured too, and tortured or worse killed. I tried but failed to piece together a non-existent memory.
