"So what happened yesterday? You didn't even say goodbye." Evan said when I returned to school the next day.

"What don't you understand, Evan? I want you to leave me alone." I said and kept walking. Did I really have any other choice?

"Why...Hey did you have that bruise the other day?" He asked catching up with me and pointing to the side of my face where Kiran had hit me. I quickly let my hair fall over it. "Why are you so reserved about everything?" He asked.

"Why are you so insistant about everything?" I asked and went to second period.

"Okay. See you later then." Evan called after me.

"Hey." Evan said when I reached my car at lunch. I sighed and continued to ignore him."So, um, about Friday?" He started.

"I'm not going. As I stated yesterday when you followed me. Please move." I said considering he was blocking the driver's side door.

"Why not though? Your boyfriend tell you what to do?" He joked but I just stared. He cleared his throat. "So, um, you need a lunch date or what?" He asked.

"Where's your little posy?" I asked hardly joking.

"Regina didn't have enough room in her truck so I opted out." He explained and somehow I knew he wasn't too upset about it. "So, uh, maybe we can go?" He said shyly.

"Um.. You wanna just stay here?" I said. I couldn't just leave the kid alone, but I couldn't risk being caught with him either. Even now just talking to him was dangerous. He gave me a funny look but agreed anyway. I ordered a salad and water again; playing with the food to make it look like I was eating.

"Aren't you hungery?" Evan said through a mouthfull of cheeseburger. I took a bite of salad to ensure him I wasn't starving myself.

"So.. Tell me about yourself." Evan said.

"What's there to tell?" I replied.

"Uh, well. Your name is Leighton Underseen and you go by Laney. That's all I know."

"You also happen to know my adress." I said although my mind was elsewhere.

"True. But.. I want to know more. You're always so reserved. You never talk to anyone other than me and that dude you live with.. Who is he anyway?" He asked but I didn't answer. "You're always on the look out for.. something. I don't get you, Laney." He finally concluded.

"You've known me for what, two days? And that's what you've concluded?" A message popped into my head from Kiran... Okay so I left out that minor detail, did I? I'm an immortal. A mind reading, mind message sending, blood drinking immortal. No I'm not a vampire, but Kiran is also an Immortal. I'd tell you more about things, but that's all I really know.  "I have to go." I said and pretty much ran out of the cafeteria.

"What are you doing here?" I asked Kiran, praying to God that evan wouldn't follow me.

"I thought you'd get my message." He smiled. "Just decided I'd check on you."

"I'm fine." I said.

"And I'm thirst." Kiran said. "Get in the car."

"But there's a whole bottle of the juice in the fridge." The "juice" was the only thing keeping us from dying right there on the spot, well that and taking blood from another immortal.

"I said to get in the car. Don't test me Leighton." I hesitated but got in anyway. Swallowing hard I closed my eyes as Kiran peeled out of the school parking lot.

Once home Kiran practically pulled me into the house.

"Kiran! Kiran please! Stop! Not like this! The Juice!-"

"I want fresh "juice"!" He said and before I could protest anymore he bit into my neck and the world went quiet as the blood was drained from my body. I fell limply into his arms.
