Me and Sara walked home from school talking happily about what happened today until we reached our houses. We walked into mine since we alternated who's house we would stay in and today it was mine.

We walked into the house and heard people talking in the kitchen. We headed into the kitchen where we found our parents sitting with cups of tea in hand and the biscuit barrel in the middle of the table. I reached over and grabbed two biscuits and passed one to Sara "we'll be upstairs" I said softly before we turned to go up the stairs "wait a minute girls" Sara's dad said suddenly stopping us in our tracks. We turned around to face everyone in confusion "take a seat" said my mum gently. We nodded slowly and sat down on the sofa that was near the dining table. All of us felt like family even though we weren't related, we've all known each other for a really long time. "Yeah?" we said together. They all sighed "don't you two think you're getting a bit too old for these Minecraft videos that you two keep watching?" My dad said jumping right to the point. We stared at them for a moment "no" we said together. Everyone in the room sighed "you two are seventeen you'll both be eighteen in a few months, it's about time you both started acting like it" my mum snapped joining in. We got to our feet "what? No, that's not fair" Sara said. Our parents all shrugged "we spoke about it while you were at school and decided it was about time that you two started acting your age and stop with all this childish nonsense" finished my mum. Without another we word we turned away and headed upstairs to my room.

We closed the door and flopped down onto the bed "the hell was that about?" Sara muttered. I groaned "well, you know how they like to control our every move" I muttered in annoyance. I pulled off the white hoodie and threw it over the end of my bed. I went into my wardrobe and pulled out my baseball uniform, I had practice in about two hours so I have to change and have my homework done before then. The younger team practised straight after school and we went after they finished. I heard Sara sigh "shall we get started on this homework then?" she asked. I nodded and flopped down beside her.

Sara headed home when I headed off to baseball practice. I alternate between Pitcher and Centre Fielder, depends on who we're playing I guess. We did a few warm ups which consisted of running, stretching, throwing a ball between each other and batting practice. We then had a practice game, Coach Johnson wanted me to play as Centre Fielder since I was Pitcher last time. I was one of the best catchers on the team along with Evan who played Right Fielder, I was also the only girl on the team but they all saw me as one of them, as one of the guys and I was perfectly content. Evan was playing on the other team against me, we got on quite well together and constantly bickered. We were all pretty good when it came to batting but his best mate Jamie was by far the best out of all of us.

After the match we all got a drink and Coach sent us on our way. Everyone headed towards the changing rooms. I walked with Jamie and Evan "all the sports teams are having a party on Friday night, you're coming right Bexy?" Evan asked with a smirk. I chuckled "of course I am, I would probably get my ass kicked by you guys and the soccer team if I didn't show up" I told him with a playful nudge to the side "okay, well, see you tomorrow at soccer Bec" Jamie told me. I nodded "see you guys later" I said as I walked into the girls changing rooms.

I changed into a plain white t-shirt and a pair of shorts. I pulled on my hoodie before leaving and making my way home.

As I came up to my house I found Sara sitting on the patch of grass that sat between my house and hers. She looked up at me and smiled "hey, how was practice?" she asked. I laughed as I sat down next to her "my team lost but that was only because Jamie and Evan were in the other team" I said, she chuckled. Sara sighed "what are we going to do about what our parents said earlier?" she questioned. I simply shrugged in response since I didn't really know. They can't exactly stop us and besides Jerome and Mitch were in most of our classes so it's not like it would really make much of a difference. I smirked "screw them" I said before throwing myself back onto the grass. Sara laughed at my childishness. I looked up when I heard someone calling our names. I got back up to see Jerome and Mitch walking towards us, well speak of the devils. They smiled "well what do you know" Mitch began with a smirk "we're neighbours" he quickly finished.
