Chapter XIII
LEO
I woke up smelling sulfur.
It burns my nose. I tried to erase the thought that coach hedge was playing with me since he was the last one I saw in my dreams. Or maybe it was dad doing something amazing with a sulfuric compound to help us with the quest.
I looked around trying to see where the stinge is coming from. But I failed to see where it came from.
"What the heck is happening here? The stinge is terrible." I fanned my face to keep the smell away.
"Don't insult me with that attitude, Valdez." A voice that sounds like someone coming from a deep chasm spoke.
I felt the hair from my body stood on end.
"Who are you?!" I shouted.
I summoned my sledge hammer. How to fight off a voice that smells like sulfur with a hammer, that I don't know.
"I think you know me. You're friends outside are beginning to recognize who their visitor is." The voice spoke again. But he sounded closer now.
The room began to smoke. Only then I realized the room was burning from the outside.
"I have no time for games! Who are you?!" I shouted while swinging my hammer hopelessly thinking that I could make a critical hit by doing that.
There was a moment of silence then a second later I heard a loud boom of laughter from all over the room.
"Foolish, demigod. It is me, Tartarus, Lord of the Pit." the voice said and then the fire got inside the room.
"You will need something better than fire to kill me, dumbass! I'm fireproof." I stated hoping to at least unnerve the god but I see I was wrong because he just laughed at what I said. I was hoping that he really was laughing at what I said because if he was laughing at me it would've deflated my confidence to boast.
"You think I'll waste my time killing you? I will be more than happy to kill Jackson myself but someone like you will be an insult to my powers. I could just send you to the pit and leave you there. You won't survive a day." I don't know how to react. The god is not trying to kill me. Good. But telling me killing me is just a waste of his time, well, that was insulting. The insult made me want to burn the god down even though I know it's not possible.
"So why are you here then? You're just wasting your time!" I dared ask him? Oh boy, yes, I did. I was surprised I didn't feel fear. I wanted to kill him. If he just stop being a coward and show himself.
"Indeed I am. But my wife, Gaea, sent me here to get you. I don't know what she's planning but I think this is where she's wrong." The voice boomed once more then I felt myself falling into a pit of pure darkness.
If this is a work of the mist just like what Hazel did in the mortal side of the doors of death I don't like it.
The smell of sulfur became stronger than it was in my cabin and I felt thirsty. So thirsty. I can feel my throat burn because of thirst.
I felt dehydration. Right now I wish Percy could send me a glass of water to drink. I wanted to die from there.
I opened my eyes and saw the reddish glow of the sky. I can't even see where I came from.
I looked down to see a hut.
It's a huge hut and I'm heading straight to it's roof.
I fell on my head. I created a hole on the roof not that big of a hole since I'm not that big but yeah, I left a mark. The foundation of the hut seemed to be made out of bones and it looked cool.
"Where am I? and that hurts." I asked before I was knocked unconscious.
xxxxxxx
"Can you believe this? It's not a monster. It's a demigod and it's a live." A huge voice boomed from all over the room but comparing to that of Tartarus this voice seemed to be peaceful.
I tried opening my eyes but my eyelids betrayed me. I can't even move a muscle.
But at least I'm alive.
"I see. It's like Percy. But little." Another voice said.
I can feel stares.
I can feel one or two creatures looking at me.
"Hush. Let's let him rest. Tomorrow we'll find a way to help him go back to Earth." I heard the first voice.
"Ok. I'll clean the house first." Said the second voice.
I opened my eyes a little hoping to have a peak of who was talking but all I can see is a humanoid form. But larger than an average mortal and a bone of..... something as its cane. Weird.
I tried to figure out what was infront of me but I fell unconscious because of exhaustion.
All things went black. I can only smell stew. I fell asleep with the smell of stew.
