"Jasmine! How many times do I have to tell you?!" Mum shouted again.
I groaned. I swear I was going to kill someone right now if she kept talking and embarrassing me.
From the side of me I could hear Justin snicker.
I kicked him on the side of his leg but that didn't seem to effect him in any way.
I squeezed tightly on to his hand so I could hurt him and gladly I did!
He let go immediately and blew out some air. Not so funny now is it... I thought.
He finally let me eat and I did. Turns out everyone was nearly done and once they were and I was halfway through eating my mum took my plate. How fucking nice...
Everyone else moved to the living room since Justin, a guest was here. It was my mum' rules to stay and be polite and chatty with the guest. Most importantly staying in the same room and not running away to do whatever kids these days did. and that was including me. Fantastic.
My mum came back to room and sat opposite me and Justin with my dad. Justin was on the end of one couch and I was next to him, but on the end of another couch while they were on the opposites.
"Justin, what's your job?"
what the actual fuck. Wait a go mum.
Justin fidgeted in his seat seeming nervous. He wasn't the only one...
"Um- well.. I'm a mechanic."
And when I turned to mum she looked disgusted.
Whyyyyyy.
"Aw- that's-" pause. "-great."
Justin smiled softly at her. I guess he saw her expression as well. Now I was sad.
I knew why my mum was asking questions like this and I didn't like the feeling of it. It seemed a bit fishy, and mum went ahead and answered it for me.
"Justin, is your brother Jason engaged or in a relationship?"
Now that hit me hard, I'm sure for the both of us.
Justin's face went blank as his eyes widened.
Though he really wanted to punch someone mentioning his brother's name, he couldn't because he had manners and he knew he couldn't do something like that to elders... especially his girlfriends mother. Although I wouldn't mind If he did.., is that bad?
"Um-not that I know of." he answered after a pause.
"Aw- well I just wanted your opinion on having maybe Jason and Jasmine getting married. What do you think? Would your mother be interested?" questioned Mum.
I felt so bad for Justin. He was put on the spot and he was giving his girlfriends mother advice between his could be brother and girlfriend engagement.
I wanted to stop this, but how?
"I um-well...-" Justin looked back at me, his eyes were full of pain and it was like he was telling me sorry.
"I'm sure he'd love to marry someone like Jasmine, she's great and um- it's a great time plus my mother would be ecstatic and Jason's a great guy." He emphasised on the - great which I only knew he meant sarcastically.
He didn't need to say such a thing. He could've it's too early, but I knew he didn't want to disappoint my mum especially with that huge grin on her face. That was just a type of guy he was. He is the great guy not Jason.
