(I didn't know that this was originally from Harry Potter as I am not someone who has watched the movies or read the books - I like the parts of the movies i have seen, however- and so I saw this - no offense but still see this- as a prequel to 'life and death' - the previous story- as one of the woman's memories.)

it was at a wedding reception in the woods. there was white fabric every where (on the tables, hanging artfully from the trees, even every one's clothes) and there were beads in her carefully pinned up hair. the band was playing one of those not-so-slow-songs-but-not-so-fast-songs that was very light and had people dancing, even if they weren't on the dance floor. kids were weaving in and out of people's feet, adults laughing at how adorable the kids were being. it was a very blithe and joyful atmosphere. it's still daylight and will be for a little longer.

and even though the scenery is breathtaking and the energy bright, all she could seem to look at is the boy in her arms. he's the one that gives her breath just to take it away and makes her heart beat just so it can stutter. he's not some ethereal being that every one wants to stare at, he's average. but she marvel's at that. at him. at how simply beautiful he is. she watches him watching her and she knows that she's going to have to make the next move, him being too shy to do so. so she leans in, closes her eyes at the very last moment, and kisses him. and he kisses back. it's not spectacular, seeing as how neither one knows how to properly kiss (it was more of a touching of the lips, really), but it was spectacular to them. because they both know that it's the start to something magnificent and they can't stop smiling. both have that glint in their eyes that says they're in on something secret, something that's only there's to share.

they continue to dance. neither of them saying a word, not needing to. they're just being together. and that's enough for them.
