all he could think was, how could this have happened? how could he have let her slip away long enough to end up here.

he'd woken up only seconds before, roped tightly to a hard wooden chair. his blazer  had been ripped and thrown in many directions and his tie, which was significantly more loose than usual, seemed to be doing nothing but suffocating his neck.

the room was cold and dark and the putrid taste of blood filled his mouth.

he began to twist and jerk his body harshly every way he could, slightly tipping the chair each time.

he stopped, let out a grunt, realizing his attempts failed.

looking around frantically, he couldn't find a way out of the damp, dark, cold room. he began to hear the screams and cries of his beloved Regina from the next room.

"Robin!!" she kept calling
he would reply "I'm here! I'm here!"

but she couldn't seem to hear him through her own screams and pleads for his help.

then, he heard a loud slammed if a large door opened and closed harshly. Regina fell silent quickly. he began to hear two deep muffled voices and Reginas voice protest against theirs, first quietly then rising in volume as did theirs.

when she finally stopped fighting he heard a loud slap, followed by her small gasp and more of the muffled voices. this ENRAGED Robin.

eventually the muffles stopped. silence only being broken by multiple loud, strong punches and the cries of regina.

this caused him to shake in his chair again and with all of the the anger built up inside of him, he busted through the ropes, not even feeling the pain of his raw, bleeding wrists.

he heard her scream and a loud gunshot was fired, followed by one last masculine muffle.

he began pounding on the door that was the only thing separating him from her.

he was banging with his fists, tears flooding his face from his anger and the thought overtaking in his mind that HIS Regina could be lying on that floor dead.

he heard the doors lock being shook and then the door swung open. he couldn't believe the sight in front of his eyes.

earlier that night:

Tonight was the night, the first night in a while that the Locksleys would be getting their much deserved night out.

Robin had been downstairs with the many children of theirs. waiting on grandma to arrive.

Henry, Roland, and Riley had been outside shooting basketballs in the driveway.  Henry is 15 and the child all of the kids look up to. Roland is about 13, and had grown super close to Henry. Riley, who was about 11, looked just like her dad.

Grace and Calvin were the younger of the five children.

Grace was now 6 and had shorter dark black hair and brown eyes, a spitting image of her mother.

and then there's Calvin who was about to be 4 and was just about the cutest little face there ever was. he was the little burst of energy and light in the family who always had something to say.

Calvin and Grace had been sitting by the grand front windows of the house for about an hour asking Robin
"daddy! when's grandma gonna be here?"

he'd respond
"she'll be here's soon, I promise."

finally the big wheels of their grandmothers  large utility vehicle rolled up.
