June 16th

Today's the day we find out if it's a girl or a boy. Trevor and I want a boy, but we wouldn't mind a girl. We're really nervous. Our parents still insist on the abortion, knowing we won't choose that option. We brought Hayden with us today. He's excited to be an uncle. He wants it to be a girl. Either way, I know Hayden will be an awesome uncle.

We checked in and got called back. When we got into the back room, we told the nurse to tell Hayden if it was a boy or girl. We let Hayden be in charge of finding a way to tell everyone what we were having.

The gel was cold. The first thing they told me was that the baby was healthy. Then they asked if we wanted pictures. That was a no brainer. She printed the pictures and gave them to us. She leaned over to Hayden and whispered in his ear. His eyes lit up and a big smile appeared on his face.

Hayden had the smile on his face the whole way home. Next week, Trevor and I are throwing a baby shower and we're using the backyard. I know it's kind of early to throw a baby shower, but I want to be prepared and have everything I need. I told Trevor that I could make salads and desserts as long as he got me what I needed and he made barbeques.

Hayden said he has everything he needs to let everyone know the gender of the baby, all we have to do is get everyone together. We arranged a grill out for our families tomorrow so Hayden could reveal it. Trevor's dad offered to man the grill. He's been the only helpful one with us. Our moms just want the abortion, but we're this far, and I'm not about to kill the human inside of me.

Trevor and I have been reading up online about pregnancy and parenthood. It's a lot cheaper than buying the books. Trevor got a good paying job, and I got a new job that pays a lot better than the last one. So basically when we aren't working, we're reading.

Trevor has been staying at my house a few nights when my mom isn't around. When she is, he leaves around 9 and then he's back in the morning or Hayden and I go over to his house in the morning.

Tonight, my mother isn't home. Even with the reveal party tomorrow, she isn't home.

I turn off netflix when I notice Trevor is sleeping. I curl up next to him and doze off.

June 17th

Trevor's family arrived around 11. I handed the hamburgers to Trevor's dad and he went straight to the grill. Trevor's mom helped me with the salads. Trevor was throwing a football around with Hayden.

"Where's your mom?" Trevor's mom asks me.

"Good question," I sigh.

"Do you want me to call her?" she asks again.

"Would you? I don't think she'll answer me anyways. I tried calling her last night, but she ignored me," I tell her.

She nods and enters into the house. I smile looking at Hayden and Trevor.

"Trevor's will be a good dad," Trevor's dad says to me.

"Yeah," I say as I smile.

"Dylan!" I hear someone yell from inside the house.

I enter and see my drunk mother laying on the ground, unconscious.
