I felt the vibration of my cell in the back pocket of my jeans. I pulled it out and read the text from Ryan:
Hey b, you and Nikki wanna meet up with me and the lads? We can go get coffee if you want xxx
I responded with a simple sure xxx and called Nikki.
"What's up?" She sounded annoyed. Her words came out so harshly and violently.
"The guys want us to meet them for a coffee"
"I have no money" Sounded like a fake excuse
"I'm sure someone will pay for you, Chris and Ricky clearly both fancy the fuck outta you and Angelo would do anything for you, heck, I'll pay for you!"
"I don't wanna just assume someone will pay for me, it looks bad"
"Hey if they don't offer, I'll give you a fiver and pretend you lent it me. You Don't have to pay me back." I offered, really wanting her to come. She took a minute to reply but she agreed.
I saw my colourful haired best friend sat outside the coffee shop with Chris, he was chatting away and she wasn't completely with it.
"Where have you been all day then?" I ask her, curious to why she hadn't been with me at all.
"Library" she responded sharply.
"Why didn't you tell me, I would've joined you"
"I fancied time on my own!"
She wasn't at library, I could tell she was lying but I didn't want to hassle her, especially in front of Chris. The others soon joined and we went inside.
Ricky and Chris seemed to be at competition over Nikki, and noticing all the attention Chris had been getting before he showed up, Ricky offered to buy Nikki a drink.
We all Sat inside, drinking our drinks and making small talk. Ryan was talking to me but I was distracted. I needed to find out what was up with Nikki, it was bad enough I had my own problems on my mind, but with her clearly having trouble too.
"You okay?" Ryan asks, I nod my head in response, realising I had completely ignored him.
"Still got a lot on your mind?" I nod again.
"You wanna talk about it?" I shake my head, no. There was no way in he'll I could talk to Ryan about it!
