Name: (Real name, past name, etc.)
Nickname(s): (Preferred name, chosen title, current name, name by friends, etc.)
Motive(s): (All characters should have motives. This is the most important trait for them!)
Goal(s): (What does this character pursue? Motives can tie into one or more of these goals.)
Gender/Sex:
Age:
Height: (How high they stand vertically – usually the "head to ground" or "shoulders to ground" measurement.)
Length: (Their horizontal size – usually the "head to tail" type of measurement.)
Weight:
Physical Appearance: (Traits like eye color, skin color, body shape, head shape, proportions, muscle size, fur or no fur, scales or no scales, etc.)
Wardrobe: (What does the character wear? Clothes, weapons, armor, accessories, etc. will go here.)
Backstory: (What did your character used to be like before they reached the point in their life that the story follows? Recommended you write the character quite young first to help better figure out why they do this or that in the present. All history of each individual leads to some form of present decisions, personality traits, quirks, and more.)
Loves: (Top prioritized, most favored items and/or loved ones.)
Likes: (Things they just simply like or enjoy.)
Indifferent With: (Stuff/characters that this character doesn't like nor dislike. Neutral interests or things they don't care to have an opinion on.)
Dislikes: (The character doesn't exactly feel hatred toward these things, just distaste toward them.)
Hates: (Bottom prioritized, "prefer to avoid at all costs" types of things or people.)
Obsessions: (Can tie into your characters motives/goals, or be separate on its own and relate more to what the character loves (or have hate-filled obsessions – the least healthy of them).)
Quirks/Habits: (Shakes their hands around, maybe they like to chew on pencils, etc.)
Favorite Colors:
Favorite Foods:
Favorite Creatures:
Favorite Stories: (If there are stories/legends within your character's world, do they like any?)
Favorite Games: (If games exist within the character's world, do they like any?)
Favorite Places:
Strengths: (What's your character better at?)
Weaknesses: (What's your character worse at?)
Weakness Strengths and Strength Weaknesses: (Sometimes a character's greatest strengths will prove to be their biggest weakness in some situations of the story. Other times their weaknesses arise to be their strengths. Can be done in comedic manners, like clumsiness opening new pathways on a quest to some magical artifact they're searching for.)
Positive Personality Traits: (Kindness, self-control, tolerance, etc.)
Negative Personality Traits: (Cruelty, anger issues, prejudice, etc.)
Flaws of Personality Each Trait: (Extreme Kindness leads to getting taken advantage of, Anger hurts themselves and people around them, etc.)
Fears: (Fears are what make your characters more "human" and real to the audience. Giving them no fears implies that they're perfect with nothing else to work on. When characters have fears, they can have more to work with in the character arcs and development department of writing.)
Beliefs: (Characters have their own beliefs, whether or not it pertains to this world is up to the writer and how their fictional world works. Having characters believe differently from the writer is a good way to establish individualism in said characters. Not many people can keep interested in a story that only follows a single moral code or "in your face" beliefs. Make room for LOTS of variety and contrast!)
Character's Main Arc/Development Goal: (Goals the writer sets for the characters journey and end game, not always having anything to do with the character's goals itself.)
Other Possible Arcs: (Various arcs – big or small - that your character experiences at the end of each chapter/episode/etc.)
Relations: (Family, friends, acquaintances, partners, pets, etc.)
