* Tori's POV *

     My mom drives us to the store, almost hitting a black Honda Civic in the process. I yell at her out of reaction and she says sorry. I sigh, and we pull into the Smith's parking lot. Once inside the store we grab the ingredients for the Peach Cobbler and Marinara Penne, and head out.

* 4 hours later *

My mom and I walk up to their door and knock, pasta and cobbler in hand. Tap. Tap. Tap. Seconds later a middle-aged woman answers the door and leads us to the dining room.

"I would like you to meet my husband, Phillip, and my son, Logan." The woman says, turning to us and adding," My name is Jane." While looking at me. My mom shakes Phillips and Logan's hand and introduces us, " This is my daughter, Tori, and my name is Margaret."

I feel awkward. Logan is staring at me and grinning. Well this is going to be great, just great. Since there are no seats left I end up sitting beside Logan, he smiles as I sit down. He leans in whispering," Nice to meet you Tori," then he leans back in his chair, and says to my mom," How old is your daughter ma'am?"

     "She is 16, Logan, how about you?"

     "I'm 16 as well, turning 17 in 2 months," His face brightens when he says this. I can tell he is happy about getting older, me not so much. I get a good long look at Logan, now noticing how attractive he really is. Dimples, Blue eyes, brown wavy hair- combed back to where it's spiky. I've looked to long, he noticed and he just smiles and I look away- embarrassed. This cute boy is here, sitting beside me, and I've already ruined it in the 10 minutes I've known him.

Good job, Tori.

     " Hey, mom, can I be excused?" I say sincerely   giving here the 'I'm sorry' look," I just really need some fresh air."

     She sighs," Fine, don't be to long." I wheel away from the table, to the front door. But a hand on the doorknob stops me from leaving.

     " I'm coming outside with you, is that okay?" He says giving me a famous pouty face. I wave my hand motioning to go ahead. He struts out the door, pushing my wheelchair down the drive way and to the sidewalk.

     " So why'd you need to go outside?" He questions me sternly," Is it because you have a boyfriend? If you didn't I'd be surprised."

Wait.. What??

     "What do y-you mean," I stutter because of how chilly it is.

     " nothing, it's nothing," I look back to see him looking away, in deep thought, with a pink tinge to his cheeks. I want to leave so bad, but I also don't at the same time. I've made my decision that I'm going to have to dodge Logan at school as much as j can, I'm just not good at socializing. I mean, I'm barely holding myself together right now.

     We turn around to head back to the house, to eat.

     " Hello Miss. Laylee," I greet the librarian. I'm currently at school, in the library, choosing my next book to read.

     I stroll through the A- S sections until I come to a book in the T aisle. It is called ' The Fifth Wave '. I go up to the check out counter when someone stops me.

     " I've been looking for you, my beloved," Logan says bowing like a prince. I giggling because that was actually adorable. " Why haven't I seen you all day, Beloved I want to be friends.

     " I don't have any friends, okay? I would think your pretty popular by now, so why do you need me?" He frowns at this? But I just wheel away now wanting to say anything more.

     I wheel faster trying to get away from Logan," Beloved, hold up," I hear him yell but I don't stop. Up ahead is a bathroom, I race to it and open the door. I struggle for a little bit but then I'm in the bathroom, away from Logan.

He just wants to be your friend!

      Maybe my conscience is right. But then again maybe it's not.
