Pop!.....Icould hear the sound of sharp snapping of twigs, or something else. Suddenly Iwas overtaken by the smell of rotting flesh, and various other components. Withdisjointed limbs the shadowy figure moved closer under the illumination of thestreet lamp, and I could hear it's bones break with every advance. Closer andcloser it inched, more and more I was able to make out it's hideous features. It's legs were held together only by loosely dangling ligaments, and werecompletely stripped of the epidermis, which revealed maggots that were feastingon festering gangrene. Distant inhuman cries filled the chilled night air, hellhad incarnated in front of my eyes, and I found myself entranced. Caughtbetween neural shock and morbid psychosis, remembering to breathe became a hardthing to do. So between my short gasp of air I tried to bring myself back. "I.....have...hav....to...move"just as I mustard enough strength to move my legs, the creature began torapidly convulse, in an almost mechanical way. Twisting, jerking, it let out ashriek with what seemed to be one thousand amalgamated voices pushed throughone throat. My body shuddered and my ears rang with a high pitched whistle, almost as if the things voice were a blade that pierced the very atoms in theair. I could not tell you how it produced such a sound, it..it had no face, only a thick leathery substance that stretched over some of its skeletalstructure. It stood at a staggering 6'4, but it stood halfcocked when it moved. In the few places that skin still resided it looked ages old and slid off withthe slightest bit of friction. I closed my eyes as tight as I could, sat down, and backed myself tightly against the wall of the alley. Maybe in hopes that itwouldn't approach any closer, "your not real.....your not real" I repeated tomyself over and over. The moment my eyes re opened everything was eerilysilent, the fragmented hissing and screams ceased. In most cases any smartperson would have taken the opportunity to run, run as fast as they could, butI didn't. Slowly rising up, I held myself up against the wall panting as I joggedto my car looking over my shoulder every two seconds. By the time I reached mycar which was parked a block down from where I was when I first encountered thedemon, I had convinced myself I had been a victim of another self-delusion,that this was the consequences of forgetting to take my pills earlier thatmorning. Unfortunately, I found this to be in no way any bit of the truth. Before I could fully open my driver's side door the "thing" rematerialized andpinned me to the hood of my car. It's spider like fingers wrapped around myneck, as I squirmed I could feel my own heartbeat, and the more I tried toscream, the more I noticed nothing would leave my throat, only faint whimpers. It slowly inched its face towards mine, giving to most hostile of impressions.There...between the beasts dangling third arm were a pair of lifeless legs.Lodged in it's rib cage, I assumed was another soul that met its untimely end,the same way I was about to meet mine. Looking me directly in my face, it twitchedits head to the side, and a large incision presented itself which formed acrooked smile from ear to ear. Flies and moths began to push their way out ofit's broken skin, ripping and tearing their way to the surface they came. Ittook two of it's fingers, and pried open my mouth. I twitched fighting to pullit's hands away but it then placed it's feet on my wrist holding them down.Tears flooded my eyes, I couldn't move, I couldn't think...I was going to die,and I was alone and hopeless. Soon the flies began crawling into my mouth anddown my throat, the moths began wriggling, and penetrated my eyes. Then allwent black...desolate...silent. To be continued
