"Jae are you here?" I can hear Lacy say upstairs. She was adorable, I wish my little sister was this cool. Her locks were blonde and it shined in the sunlight, eyes so blue you could swim laps in them all day, only thing she picked up from her father is his complexion, which is a light tan. It's surprising a first considering most people with blonde hair and blue eyes are pale but not little Lacy here.
"Yeah Lacy I'm down here, alone," I say with a fake sad tone.
"I'm coming!" she squeals inbetween fits of laughter. She was just so adorable. How can one not love her?
"Hey want to go see if Aiden is home?" I ask. Aiden was the boy across the street, Lacy has a bit of a crush on him. Aiden, how to explain Aiden. Oh, Aiden likes toy cars, spaghetti, crayons, and is quite tall for a eight year old. He has shaggy chestnut hair, coffee brown eyes, and is tan. If I were eight, I'd be all over that.
Instead of answering, like a normal child, Lacy decides to run out the door and across the street. By the time I got the chance to get to the doorframe Lacy was already knocking on the door. Mrs. Hunt was already opening the door by the time my foot hit her lawn.
"Hi Mrs. Hunt, I was wondering if Aiden would like to come over and play?" Lacy says with her smile.
"Only if it's okay with Jae," Mrs. Hunt says with a genuine smile, that women is just so nice. Her hair was a sandy brown, her eyes just a darker shade, and her pale skin had made her look more young than she already was. She was such a lovely person, I'm jealous, I will admit that.
Mrs. Hunt or Esia Hunt she's in her mid twenties and Aiden is eight. So she was basically a teen mom. A pretty darn good one because she has a good paying job, a husband, and a house over their heads. Still a little jealous, her parents must've been so proud of her.
"It's totally fine with me," I respond back.
Just as I finish saying my acceptance Aiden comes rushing down in a Batman onesie; screaming about some new toy that was coming out. After about a minute of screaming he had realized Lacy and I were standing at the door.
"Oh, Jae and Lacy I didn't see you there," he admits with a blush on his face. He totally thought she was cute, they are going to make the cutest couple when they're older.
"We were wondering if you would like to come over a play," Lacy asks boldy.
"Oh yeah sure," Aiden turns around to grab his shoes and he sits on the stairs to put them on. A Batman onesie with Spider-Man sneakers, can he get anymore odd. If they were the Joker or the Penguin it make sense, but it's a completely different superhero.
"See you later Mrs. Hunt," Lacy says waving has she was going down the stairs. I smiled in a thankful way. Just hope they aren't to crazy for me, I'm just one girl.

"Aiden it's your turn," I hear Lacy say in the living room. It's been an hour, they fought for most of it, but they decided to play Jenga. If this ends up with Jenga pieces down someones throat or in someones pants, I don't know what I would do. I love these kids don't get me wrong, it's just at that wild child stage.
Giggles were all that I could hear from the kitchen, Mrs. Holland would be another 45 minutes and I had prepared a snack so I wouldn't be charged for starving to children. It was only grilled cheese but they'll love it, who doesn't love grilled cheese?
"Lacy it's been ten years just go already," Aiden says in the loudest voice I ever heard from him and that's saying something, this child is loud. A sigh of frustration comes from Lacy before I hear a loud crash.
"Aiden! I was going to pick one," Lacy says with her baby tone that she occansionally uses when things don't work out for her favour. Sometimes I hear it coming from my little sister, Phoebe because they play often. Oh Lacy, sometimes being an only child has it's downfalls, I think this is one of them.
"Well you were taking ten years," Aiden says in his frustrating tone. Only God knows why I suggested Aiden to come over and play. Either way, these grilled cheese aren't going to eat themselves.
"Hey guys food," if bribery doesn't work with ending this arguement I might have to be sentimental and sentimental is something I don't do. Not something I'm in favour for. I'm not an emotional person so that may be why.
They come running from the living room, Aiden with his onesie and Lacy with her dress. Lacy's pigtails were loosened up indicating that was one intense game of Jenga. Who knew two eight year olds could be so competitive over Jenga?
"Jae did you make this grilled cheese?" Aiden asks after taking a bite of the sandwich. Crumbs flew out of his mouth hitting Lacy in the face.
"Aiden that's disgusting," Lacy says in disgust wiping the crumbs off, sticking her tongue out to truly show her annoyance.
"No Aiden, the people of grilled cheese heavens came down and gave me that piece of deliciousness," I gleam, he's smart enough to realize I made it, because that's the tenth time I said that to him.

"Thank you again Jae, I really apprieciate it," Mrs. Holland says while getting her purse. Before she can get out her wallet I stop her.
"Mrs. Holland, why don't you give Lacy a toy, I would do it myself but I am to busy to do it now," I say with a smile. Sure I need the money but this is like a reminder to Mrs. Holland that Lacy needs her parents in her life, not just Jae. Besides, Lacy is my sidekick I'd do anything for her.
"I'll do that Jae, have a good evening," she says before I walk out the door. I zip up my jacket because from the walk from A to B is a short but cold one.
It wasn't long until I reached the doorstep of my house, it did take quite a while to open the door since my hands were so cold.
"I'm home," I say rubbing my hands together for warmth.
"Oh Jae you're just in time for dinner," my mom says while setting the table. I smile and take off my things before joing them for dinner, it was my favourite, mashed potatoes and ribs. Yes I am messy, I can't control, I can eat it though.
