"Listen Lex, dad's gone for a while so it's just you and me okay?" Dean was saying

"Sam isn't coming back... is he?" She ask shakily

"No sweetheart, I dont think so." He replies with what sounds like a frown

All she knew is that Sam had been yelling with dad and he left. Dean said he was going to school somewhere far away but that they could still visit him from time to time. Dad was hunting a ghoul as of the moment and she was left with Dean at the motel room.

Dean's heart broke for her. She is really close with both her brothers, mostly because they helped her get around a lot, dad was never around. He hated to be the one to tell her and wished dad would do his damn job of being a father. She didn't blame him. Dean's got too much on his shoulders. And Sam just dumped his load. She would help but uh.... you don't see blind people do much.

"Can I draw you?" She asks, changing the subject

"Sure thing sweetheart." Dean leads her to the couch and hands her a book and pencils.

He drags a chair over to Alexandria and sits in front of her. By now she's put her hair up in a tight bun and her legs are curled under her. This was her thinking position.

"Alright." Dean says and leans forward so she can reach him comfortably

She slowly reaches out to him and uses her hands to study his face. First she drew his jaw, that was pretty easy since his was strong. Then she focuses on his eyes, she's very gentle as not to hurt him by accident.

John comes through the door and sighs. It wasn't a successful hunt. He saw his youngest drawing his oldest. He didn't approve. It was a waste of time when they could be hunting.

"I'm almost done dad." She says

"Alright." He says

She couldn't do much anyway but he was disappointed that Dean was wasting time. He went to the bathroom to get cleaned up. Alex finished quickly and tore it out, handing it to Dean.

"How is it?"

"Wow... that's... wow." He breaths

She was... wow. She couldn't see yet she managed to draw him so accurately

"Is it good then?" She asks with a faint smile

"Yea. Yea it's great. I'm keeping this one." He says

She smiles happily. Not all of her work was good, especially when she couldn't reach what she wanted to draw. She found making people happy with her drawings made up for her being blind. She felt like it was her fault, she couldn't do anything to help and usually needed help. Sam and Dean always said she was the light in their life and made sure to say they loved her but John... he didn't talk to her a lot.

She stayed on the couch quietly while Dean folded the drawing and tucked it in his pocket before moving the chair and taking her drawing things. She knew dad would be moving a lot when he got home and tried to stay out of his way. He would be angry and stressed because of Sam.

"Dean."

"Yes sir?" Came his usual response

"I told you not to waste time with the drawing."

"Sorry sir." Dean says straight faced

"Alex?"

She lifts her head up towards him.

"Don't waste your brothers time."

"Yes sir." she replies meekly
