I jumped as the door bell rang. I ran up and answered the door to find a delivery man.

"India Glass?" The smiling delivery man asked.

"Yes?" I replied reluctantly; I knew I hadn't ordered anything but the huge box the delivery man had propped next to him with my name on suggested otherwise.

"Sign here please!" He said as he held out a delivery note and pen. I took the pen and signed quickly. "Have a nice day miss." The delivery man smiled and pushed the box towards me with his foot.

"And you." I smiled as passed back the pad and pen and then reached for the box as he walked away.

The box was about the size of a bedside table but wasn't as heavy. I picked up the box and took it into the kitchen. I pulled out a knife from a draw and then slit open the box. Inside the box were other boxes and as I pulled them all out I found 3 of them to appear to be shoe boxes and 3 to be flatter but bigger shaped boxes. All boxes were branded and labelled with brands I'd never heard of but looked expensive never the less. I opened all the boxes and found a green pair, black pair and silver pair of shoes, a lilac dress, a black and silver dress and an aqua dress.

I looked around the boxes and attempted to find a note. My first thought was that is from Josh, I knew he'd wanted me to go to that premier with him but hadn't text me or called since the other day after the barbecue. Maybe it was from my aunt? She could have a surprise planned! Or maybe it was for my aunt and I really shouldn't have looked through it all, on the other hand the dresses looked too small for my aunt, she had a larger figure than me, though she was still very much in shape and the dresses looked about my size.

My phone began to buzz taking me out of my daze. I answered it without checking the caller ID.

"Hello?" I said reluctantly.

"Got my delivery?" A deep cheery voice asked. It was Josh.

"Erm, yeah but why'd you send it?" I asked knowing his answer already.

"Well I was hoping you'd be coming to that premier with me tonight." Josh chuckled.

"I've got work today Josh." I lied hoping it would get me out of lying again.

"I already checked with your boss India, don't lie to me." He sighed.

"Oh." I replied, not really knowing what else to say.

"Look, I know you feel bad about lying and everything but it's the last time, I promise." He said sweetly.

"Last time?" I said bitting my lip as I felt the soft material of one of the dresses.

"I promise." I could hear his grin down the phone. I sighed in response. "I'll send hair and make up round at 4, be washed and ready, limo comes at 6:30. See you tonight India." and with that he hung up leaving me gawping.

After two hours of hair and make up I was finally ready to try the dresses on.

"Which one are you thinking of wearing then?" Lisa, the stylist that josh had sent asked me as I held the 3 up.

"I'm not sure..." I replied, although in the back of my mind I already knew. Aqua was Josh's favourite colour and something about the aqua long and spilt dress called to me like I was meant to wear it. I carried the dresses out the room and tried on the black and silver dress and then walked back in. Both Lisa and I stared at my reflection in the mirror. I admired the job Lisa had done on my hair and make up but the dress just didn't look right and you could see it in both our faces.
