Everything seems so real and I'm afraid that I like it here...
I was a bit startled when I heard his voice. "O, nandito ka pa pala."
"Akala ko ay natulog ka na, Sir Don?" tanong ko sa kaniya pabalik.
Umiling lamang siya. "Pumunta lang ako sa kusina."
Naglakad siya papalapit sa aking direksyon at naupo na rin sa hagdan, ilang hibla lang ang espasyo sa pagitan namin. Ewan ko ba, pakiramdam ko ay ang sikip ng paligid kapag kasama ko siya.
Hindi ko na lamang pinansin at ibinaling ko ang aking paningin sa madilim na kalangitan ngunit may mga talang nakikislapan.
"Ang ganda ano?" rinig kong sabi niya.
Wala sa sarili akong napatango kaagad. "Oo, masarap talagang titigan ang mga stars."
"Tama ka," aniya, "Ang mga bituin ay masarap titigan ngunit ang hirap lapitan. It's like so close, yet so far, out of reach."
Napalingon ako sa kaniya nang bahagya, medyo nagulat kasi ako sa sinabi niya. Parang ang deep kasi, may pinanghuhugutan?
"Wow, ang lalim ah. So close yet so far?" I asked in a slight confusion, my brows furrowed.
"Oo, parang tayong dalawa lang," wika niya sabay lingon sa akin kaya mas lalo akong naguluhan. Ang seryoso niya yata ngayon.
"Ano?"
He took a deep breath before he gave an answer that surprised me, "You're like those stars. You are so close, yet so far, Mira."
The cold wind blew softly, I keep on staring at his eyes who's also locked in mine. For seconds, turned into minute, silence took over. Ako ang unang umiwas at muli akong napatingin sa mga bituin sa langit.
Ano ba ang sinasabi niya? Kakaiba yata ang mga kilos at sinasabi nitong lalakeng 'to ngayon. He's acting weird and a bit creepy.
"Whatever you say, duh..."
