Merlin's POV

It was Arthur, the Prince of Camelot, who had made me this journey bright and early. He wanted me to cross the border of the two countries, Camelot and Penidest in order to get rid of the sight of the King Uther. It was all because he desired to make him believe that he and his servant, me were going for a hunt, while in fact, he was dating with his secret love, Gwenivere on the other border of Camelot, joint with Kalioth, where there were no spy from the King. After all, this was my stupid master's clever plan.

Another man who was willing me to go away was Gaius, the only court physician of Camelot. He ordered me to pick some useful herbs for his medicine. It was exactly killing two birds with one stone, Gaius. Well done. Actually, I was to go spend my off day for practising magic(my secret gift) in the forest where no Uther's men would find me as Uther had made a law that anything that was considered to be magic and sorcery must be banned and anyone who had this talent would surely be executed at once. The law had been made more or less 20 years which was as long as the length of my life.

The morning air was filled with chill.

I was grateful to Arthur that I was given a day off. But not to Gaius because the herbs he ordered were so rare and not to be easily found which meant that I had to spend the day in this forest, searching for these plants and herbs.

Arthur was said to be my destiny by the legend and the once and future king that one day he would be the king of Camelot and he would rule the land with justice and fair which was strongly longed for by anyone ,but especially by those who had magic, those who had been hunted for those 20 years ruled by Uther. And yes, I was also one of them who believed in his manners of kindness and compassion. I had been protecting Arthur from any danger secretly with his sorcery as I must protect him with all my life. I would also sacrifised for him and he would do anything for me undoubtfully. We were friends as well as brothers.

By noon, I was drowned in tiresome, having found a few of what Gaius asked.

I saw a stream, water flowing unstopping. I could hear a moaning voice with pain which I thought would be an animal or a beast. I started to approach where the voice came.

In front of my eyes was a young and pale girl, lying and groaning beside the stream. I didn't think of any danger that could come from this girl, which could be a monster or a trap. But I had no concern. As soon as I saw her, I steered to her and put my palm on her forehead which was as hot as Arthur's bathing water. She was terribly sick and stung by a very deathly poisonous kind of bee. As much as I knew, I had never known a cure to this bee. It was almost magically fatal.

Her spirit was leaving her so to keep her alive I was to do nothing but cure with my magic.

"Taoblurdo cameith volaudra nathe jion yaharthy" with a vast strength I cast that healing spell.

As using all my might, I truely am glad that this powerful spell didn't take my soul out.

Her face was filled red and her gasp became calm.

Only then, I began to notice the girl's appearance. She was very much unlike with any other people I have ever seen, thinking she was from another world. The things she wore were so different that a bell never ringed me.But the only thing I could say was that she was lying seemed very innocent as if she was always the one who I could trust. But in reality, I didn't even know her name.

Ivy's POV

I saw him watching at me anxiously but never looked away as I stole as many glances as I could. The pain was now sheerly gone and I could move my limbs.

I heard his gentle voice, with a scarce whisper,

"Hey, are you ok?"

"Hmmmm." Now I opened my eyes wide to show him that I'm ok and let an ok out of my throat.

What I saw was a young man, whose eyes were smiling compassionately at me. He was not a man of nice build but he looked really charming and I felt as if he was never leave me and if he was the only one who could save me from any danger.

His clothes looked very dirty indeed but his face was as pure as crystal.

"Don't be scared of me. I wouldn't do any harm to you. I was just helping you to make you feel well."

"I know that you're helping me."

"Stay still. You don't have enough energy to move. I'll get you some water. You must be thirsty. "

The man pulled out a bottle from his cloth and filled it with the water from the spring. Then he handed it to me.

"Here you are."

As I was drinking the water, his eyes never looked away from me.

"Just take a rest. I'll be here. Don't worry, ok? No harm would be done here with me."

Then I fell asleep.

A moment later,..

"Hope you've had a restful sleep?"

"Yes. Thank you."

"By the way, I am Merlin. I am from Camelot. So what's your name?"

"My name is Ivy. I am from China. Sure you would know about that country."

"Sorry. I haven't heard of it. Maybe I'd find it in one of Gaius's books." saying abit chuckling. Blimey!! That's kind of stupid, isn't it? How on earth could not he know the country which was then one of the most developing countries?

"What are you doing here alone, Ivy? I wouldn't suppose it is suitable for a young and delicate girl like you wandering around the forest, would I?"

"No. You've got me wrong, Merlin.I didn't even know how I made my way to this place. I was sleeping in my bed at home last night. That's all I remembered. Well, also a few odd dreams. Just that. Then I found myself here in the middle of the forest."

"You want to make me trust that you were sleepwalking, don't you?"

"Of course not. I have never left my bed for as long as I can remember. I never sleepwalked."

"Then what brought you here? Could you tell me more details? I think I will be able to find a way to your home when I know where it is."

"Don't ask me. I have no idea at all how I got here. My home is China, from Asia. I guess Asia might rings a bell to you. Am I right?"

"A-Asia? What exactly is that? A country?"

"No way. You must be kidding me. It is one of the seven continents in this world. You might know that, mightn't you?"

"It's not funny, Ivy. It's not really funny. Just tell me straight."

"I'm not joking. That's about the world I lived before I came up here. That's all I know. I can't explain more than this. I think there must be something very wrong." I started to think that if I was never to be back at my home.

"Give me a moment. I need some air and some solutions. I'll be right back." He assured me not to worry with a comforting smile, whist bewildered and led his way through the trees ahead me.

This time, I never felt more alone.
