The full moon rises high above our heads, casting its pale light down on us. It's just another lie, another fake, another illusion. It seems real, looks real, and feels real just like anything else. A normal night like this is nothing compared to the ones I've been through, another investigation and still no clue. A loose end with no tie. Crossing off the name of every possible location known to the crime is just the usual routine, every factory I've been through apparently has had nothing to do with the murder of Barry Teller, poor guy was found with some unknown mutation. We don't know what happened, we don't know what he learned, but what we do know is that he is just like the others. None of them had a pattern, like boy-girl-boy. None of that. There was no pattern at all. A string of random, unconnected murders all around the city. Until I came into all of this, I was top of my team and proud of it, coming top was not easy and it wasn't hard either. Researching every clue that I found lead me to a dead end. It seemed like the killer was very professional, and knew what he was doing.

"This doesn't make any sense. We should just close the case and call it a day." Officer Blackthorn said, yawning.

"No, I'm close and I know it! It just doesn't make sense, why would he kill all these people? There's no pattern!" I replied.

"Listen Clary, you have until February 24th to figure out this case. You have 4 weeks. You're lucky I'm even giving you this much time." He said, looking at me sternly. I returned the look, staring back at him coldly.

"Thanks" I mumbled, walking away, frustrated by the fact that he thought he could intimidate me.

I knew that I could do this, I knew that behind all of these murders, there was an answer. I went back to the base and looked over the autopsy, my eyebrows furrowed in frustration. Barry Teller didn't consume anything toxic, and nothing was injected into his system that could mutate him, either. It was like the mutation just appeared out of the blue, hit him like a dodgeball. I looked over the other tests, and none of them held any proof of any type of injection whatsoever. However, one thing was off - his blood sample. His blood had traces of several different lethal chemicals that had seemingly just sprouted in his system out of nowhere. I was growing weary as time passed, and it was getting late. I quickly cleaned up, placing the samples back into their containers. Locking the building door behind me, I kept my eyes on the sky as I walked to my car. The background was black, a few stars glittering across the sky, brightening the night. The sky looks so pretty, yet somehow surreal, I thought to myself, eying them thoughtfully. I shook the thought from my head, and started my car, heading home. I yawned in exhaustion, eager for the moment I could finally get home and rest.

Working with mutated carcasses all day and night had taken its toll on me, and I needed a vacation of some sort. People often have the misbelief that murders are uncommon, because of the fact that the media likes to hide these things from us. They're far beyond wrong. Someone, somewhere, has committed a murder every second of the day. In all of my life as a detective, I'd never seen a case as mysterious and unsolvable as these ones, and I intended to figure it out. I took a shower, ate take outs, brushed my teeth, and went into bed. All I could think about was the case and nothing else, when I finally fell asleep thinking too much about the case, everything went hazy and dark. I heard raining, and shootings, I felt scared and rushed. I felt someone holding my hand and pulling me to get cover from what I felt is dangerous. It was like I couldn't open my eyes, they felt heavy and it was like I knew where I was going by just one hand tugging at me and me following along like some lost dog. Then, I felt pain in my neck and then everything went numb, I woke up sweaty and rushed and this time it was a new vision or dream whatever it was. I have been having these visions for a while now and haven't gotten any clue what they mean, it felt so real until everytime when i'm close to somewhere safe and far away, I feel a pain in my neck and then everything goes numb like a dart hits me or something. It felt like the same person holding my hand and dragging to some place in the world, and all I needed was a vacation. I called in sick, and spent the day like it was vacation. Like usual, I just go to my therapist and hang out in central park, the reason I go to a therapist is because my dreams or visions get the best of me and I go crazy. Sometimes on my day off, after I go to my therapist to get better and feel good about myself, I go to central park to feel the sun and the wind. I just like good weather and not much people see this side of me besides my close friends and family.

I never thought to dream these visions in the first place, they all started when the first murder came through....wait i'm coming on to something. The visions all started when the first mysterious murder happened! I ran out of central park and went into my car, "What if these people had visions like me and started learning things?" I thought "what if someone didn't want them to know and killed them?" Then not knowing with the window open I yelled out, "BUT KILLED THEM WITH WHAT?!" Covering my mouth and looking out the window finding two strangers staring at me with big eyes. I said, "Sorry." And drove away in embarrassment. Being embarrassed meant nothing to me and I only focused on my case, I wanted nothing more than to just end the case and find this sick psycho killer. I knew that since these people could have had the same thing as me and figured some top, dangerous secret that had them killed could happen to me too, but I knew the risk and I wanted to take it for the great-or-good. I knew that when I came home, I had to keep things secret and held in a secret place just in case someone saw and try to kill me. It started raining like it was reading my mind or as if something was about to go down. As I was driving home, I saw a man sitting on the sidewalk in the rain, my good side got the best of me and I stopped my car beside him. I got out getting my umbrella that I kept in my car just in case it rained and opened it putting the umbrella over me and him.

"Hey, we need to get out of this rain, lets get into my car and you can eat whatever you want and when we get to my place you can take a shower and i'll give you some fresh and dry clothes. Okay?"

"Thanks, you are a really nice person." he said

I got the man into the car and quickly went in the car without a drop on my side, the man took his hood off and showed his face. Something was familiar with him, he had a safe and calm touch with him, I felt like I knew him even though I just met him. It got cold in the car so I turned up the heat, I asked the man,

"Hey, um so what's your name?"

"My name is Ace."

"I like your name Ace, my name is Clarrissa, but people call me Clary for short."

"I like your name too, Clary. Thanks for taking me out the rain."

"No problem. I didn't want you getting sick. Where do you want to go and eat?"

"There is a chinese place that I like to go to, it is called Mr.Chen."

"No way! That's my favorite chinese place in the world!!!"

"Really? Wow."

"Okay after we go and eat, we can go to the store and get some clothes for you."

"Cool, okay. Um I just want to say thank you again for getting me out of the rain..."

After the conversation, it got quiet, the only thing we heard was the rain falling on the windows of the car. I stopped at a light and because I could not help myself, I looked at Ace. I didn't mean to but it felt like it was a need to do it. I quickly looked back as soon as he noticed me looking at him. We kept driving in silence with no way to start a conversation because we barely knew each other but me with the feeling we have met before but I never remembered. We stopped at Mr.Chen and got ourselves a seat in the back where I always loved to sit, we ordered so much food that took so long and 3 seconds or less to eat the food. We laughed and made jokes and talked about the things we had in common and what we liked about them which we had a lot in common. After we were done, I paid, but since I knew Mr.Chen so well and went there a lot, I got a discount. We left Mr.Chen's and drove to the store and got some new clothes and some other things for Ace's body and hair. Ace made sure that the clothes and other things fit him and made him comfortable, I spent like over a hundred dollars but that was one-third of my wallet, I had a lot more money. Me and Ace had so much fun picking out clothes and getting products for him, I drove home with Ace after we had tons of fun and got the things he needed. Getting out the car and getting the bags and everything got interesting too, everyone would think that we were drunk but we weren't, Ace started singing a song I knew a lot about and started singing with him getting louder and more dramatic, soon we were loud enough for the whole block to hear. When getting to the door, it sounded like a strike against our singing. As we began walking inside the house after I unlocked the door and opened it. we stopped singing the song and showed Ace around my house.
