- Pain To Gain -

Haylee was panting as sweat droplets dripped from her face. Her face stone cold as she took another deep breath she punched the tree again feeling the pain shoot through her knuckles to her arm then back. She bit her lip as she punched it over and over again trying to get rid of the pain.

'Until you don't feel it anymore.' Bellatrix's voice echoed through her head as she punched the tree causing her knuckles to bleed down her hands. 'Don't feel the pain.'

Then there was a deep throat clearing as she sighed, but stayed punching the tree. "I'm allowed to be here, Professor Snape's orders." She hissed as she folded her fingers slightly to feel the blood dripping down to the wet grass.

"Well, I wasn't here to stop you." Draco said as he looked at the girl in her shorts and tank top. She turned around slightly, and looked at him.

"Then why are you here?" She asked in a snarky tone. She felt exposed to him. She was showing off her emotions through each punch she was giving.

"Well, I don't know." He said sarcastically. "You missed the Quidditch game. Weasel Bee won for your brothers team." He mumbled. "And you missed helping me with the vanishing cabinet." He said while Haylee rolled her eyes.

"I've done enough for you." She said as she started hitting the tree again. Feeling more anger than what she started with from Draco.

"No, you didn't." He hissed while rushing towards her and pulling her away from the tree. "I could die!" He yelled and Haylee just stared at him. "My family could die as well, and you're supposed to help me." He said while pointing at the girl blonde and digging his finger on the top of her chest.

Haylee pushed his hand away while getting on his face. "Listen here Draco Lucius Malfoy..." She growled while Draco suddenly paled more. "You should know that because of your stupidity, Katie Bell almost got cursed with that damned necklace." She said lowly and looked him straight in the eyes. "And guess who saved her. Me. So, if it wasn't for me risking my arse for your stupid plan, I wouldn't have to be here right now." She said while showing him her hands.

"I only learned one thing from the stupid Tasks. Pain and fear. Pain can mask everything while fear drives you to do the pain. My fear right now is, my emotions are bubbling up to the surface again and I could die for that." She hissed and Draco grimaced at the broken skin and bruised gashes along her knuckles and fingers.

"You are not the only one who is risking their life. So stop being a prat and leave me alone for when I can go to you myself." She growled lowly at the blonde and stomped away from him leaving him again.

Haylee's POV

I walked away from professor Snape's office looking down at the new skin that wrapped around my fingers. I sighed and walked down the hall to see A familiar red head and brunette with her arms wrapped around his neck.

"Ronald?" I asked shocked and he pulled away while blushing madly.

"Sorry, Hayl-" he couldn't even finish as the girl pulled him back into an intense snog.

I quickly looked away not wanting to see and rushed into a secluded room to find Hermione sobbing on the cold stone stairs. I furrowed my eyebrows. "I was gone for two hours, how does this happen?" I asked and Hermione lifted her head while sniffing.

"I'm sorry, Haylee, but Ron-" she couldn't even finish as she started crying again. I bit my lip, but sat down next to her anyways whole awkwardly patting her shoulder.

"It's okay." I mumbled and she looked at me.

"Have you ever liked someone and they just go for someone else." She said and I thought about it.

"I don't know... I mean, I don't think that's ever happened to me before." I muttered and she wiped her eyes.

"Oh." She said simply as she sniffled and looked out the window.

I looked at her and sighed. "Hermione, I'm-" I started but was cut of by lips capturing mine.

My eyes widened and I didn't move as I didn't know what to do. Hermione pulled away embarrassed as she looked down to the ground. "I'm sorry, I just thought-" I cut her off.

"No! No it's fine, I just didn't know-" I cut myself off not knowing what to say.

I furrowed my eyebrows at her. "I know you Hermione, and you didn't mean to do that did you?" I asked and she sighed.

"I was hoping that I would feel a little something, but no, I didn't mean to." She said while I just chuckled awkwardly.

"Okay, well let's not speak about this to anyone." I said and she nods her head.

"Yes, totally. Mouth closed." She said while zipping her lips with her fingers.

I just hugged her and she relaxed. "Your not mad?" She asked.

I smiled at her. "No, you were just testing the waters. I totally understand." I said while waving her off.

She smiled and started walking towards the Gryffindor common room. "Well, I'll keep my promise Haylee." She said and I grinned.

"Same here." And I saw her walk off.

I shrugged and walked to the Slytherin common room. "Not weird at all." I muttered and rubbed my lips softly.
