Nikki POV:

Damn it! I'm on the phone and carrying my briefcase and coffee in one hand while trying to talk on the phone with Melanie. "Listen Mel, I'll meet you right after work, I promise, and I won't tell Liam. Of course I've already invited our few friends and the big party is--Ahhh!" I yelp as hot coffee pours down the front of my shirt. "Shit! What the hell?" I scream to see who I bumped into, of all the people. "Oh it's you," I grumble.

"What happen Nicole?! Are you okay? Do I need to call 911?" Melanie is freaking out on the other end of the line.

I chuckle at this, "No Mel, I'm uh fine, I just got coffee dumped all over me. Damn and the new shoes I bought," I look at my shoes sadly.

"Shit! Nikki I'll be right over! That's even worse then being shot! We'll save your shoes!" Melanie is screaming. Then I hear some grumbling on the other line, she woke Liam up on his birthday. Someone is going to have to make that up to him.

"Melanie I'm fine, it's no big deal, but I've gotta go." I say and then before she can reply I fastly hang up. "Oh my God! That girl," I shake my head.

"Hello to you too, I'm sorry about your shoes and your clothes," Daniel smirks at me.

I lose my smile, "Hi, now excuse me but I have to go." I say not meeting his eyes. I try to go around him but when I went to the right he went to his left. We ended up doing this a few more times before I finally got around him.

He grabs my arm. "No we need to talk about this," Daniel starts and I can practically feel his bright blue eyes are burning a hole into my head. "About the other night--" he starts but I grab him by the arm and yank him into my office.

"No, you can forget talking. Last Friday was obviously a mistake and I have no intention of ever bringing it up again. We'll forget it ever happened and we'll act professionally on this case. Then we'll go our seperate ways, you can be assigned to another team or you'll be assigned your own case and I will have my own case like I've always had." I finally meet his eyes daring him to argue.

Of course being Daniel Andrews he had to argue back, "Nikki--we have to talk about this. You and I both know this but will you at least here me out?" He asks quietly.

I hold up my hand to keep him from saying anything. "Mr. Andrews, I'm sorry but only friends call me Nikki. And, yes, we do know it happened but do we have to acknowledge it? No we don't. Now excuse me I need to change so if you'll leave. Then we can continue with the case." I state with finality ending this conversation.

"Nicole, we need to talk about this later," Daniel says but before I can reply he walks out of my office.

I slam my briefcase down, "No we fucking don't!" I scream to myself. I walk to the drawer on the far side of my office and pull the third drawer open. Inside is my gray pants suit and a plain white button up shirt. I swiftly change out of my coffee stained clothes and put my new clean ones on. Right as I'm buttoning my jacket up, I heart a knock at the door, "Come in," I say and then turn to see Alice run in.
