"I see you two have already become friends." Steven smiles, obviously amused by Harry and I's bickering.
"Not really." I sigh.
"She's loads of fun. Way to pick one, bro." Harry gave his brother a pat on the back before walking out of the room.
"Sorry, I warned you my brother was annoying. I promise though, he is only just joking around." Steven grabs my hand, and laces his fingers through my own.
"It's okay, I get it. Nice brother you have there, though." I smile and plant a small kiss upon his cheek.
I just hope Harry won't be attending the same school as me, given he is in High School too.
He is incredibly annoying, and I don't know how I'd be able to stand him if he enrolled in my school, of all of them. I cringe just thinking of the thought of having to see him everyday, against my will.
Anne wanted me and Steven to stay for dinner - to which I agreed.
She seemed to like me a lot, and I enjoy having a conversation with her.
"So, how is your family doing?"
She asks, hesitantly. I could tell she was trying hard not to be intrusive.
"My father is a lawyer, my mom stays at home to assure everything is well taken care of." I smile."Your house is lovely, I should add."
"Thank y- Harry Edward Styles! Get in the kitchen and join us for dinner, Gemma, You too! Take out your headphones!"
"Chill, mom, I'm coming." Gemma says, putting her phone in the band of her pants.
"Who's this?" She instantly asks, noticing me sitting at the kitchen table.
"I'm Steven's girlfriend, it's nice to meet you, Gemma."
"Nice to meet you too! Emma right?"
"Right." I giggle.
"Yeah, I've heard a lot about you. We're going to get along just fine, you and I."
"Harry Edward!"
"See what I mean, by handful?" Steven laughs, and I can't help but laugh with him. His laughing about the whole matter makes me laugh as well.
"Now, let's all have a nice dinner."
Anne said. Harry seats himself on the other side of me, in between Gemma, and myself. "Sorry for the interruption, Steven and Emma. Harry's a handful."
Harry mutters something from beside me, and I laugh as I watch his mood turn annoyed.
"You know, Emma is going to be a valedictorian." Steven brags. I slap his arm. I had specifically told him not to brag about me at all tonight.
"Really, Emma? That's amazing! You go to the towns high school, right?"
"Yes, but I'm not as brilliant as he makes me sound." I humbly reply.
"Harry's going to that school too! I believe he starts on Monday, am I right Harry?" Great, just great. But I can't be upset. It was expected.
"Yes, but you're a lot more excited than I am about it, mum." Harry laughs as he pokes at his food.
Anne faked a cough, and continued eating.
"Steven, when are you starting college?" I questioned.
"Oh, I didn't get into this college. I got into one a couple hours away."
Steven looks down at the floor.
"What do you mean? Didn't you enroll? It makes sense, if you guys live this close to the campus."
"Yeah, but he didn't get in." Harry laughs.
"Shut up, Harry." Anne intruded.
"He just wasn't quite qualified, all on the extra curricular side of things is all. Academically, he is fine. That's how he got into this other college."
"Then which college are you going to?" There's no denying it. I'm heartbroken. He's obviously going to be far enough away that he won't get to come home everyday.
"There's another campus, a few towns over, I got accepted there, and it's a couple hours away."
"But Steven, that's kind of far away."
"I know. That's why I'll have to move into a dorm, on campus. I'll still try to come home every weekend, though." He explained,
Entwining his fingers with mine.
I was disappointed he won't be close to me, mostly because Harry will be, and he won't, but still. I don't want him to be 2 hours away, I want him to be across the street from me. I'm tired of doing the distance thing. I wanted him to be close to me, that's why I've always wanted him to move here. But now that he's leaving in a week, my expectations are drained of it all.
But of course, I'm going to be a happy fully supporting girlfriend to him, whatever he does, ever. I will always support his decisions, good and bad.

"So, is there anything fun to do here in town?" Anne smiles at me, glaring at Harry, to get him to keep quiet as we sit in their living room the next day, before Steven's dismissal to college.
"I don't really go out much, but there is a little cafe I love to visit, especially on rainy days."
"You'll have to show me sometime, Emma. I'd love to go."
"Of course! We could even go right now, if you'd like." I smile.
"I don't have anybody to watch Harry." She reminds me. I snicker. He's my age, and she worries of him destroying the house.
"Mum, I'm 18, I can be home alone without trashing anything."
18? Wow. Older than me, shockingly. He doesn't come across as 18. I mean, I guess if you take in his actual height, and the perverted way his mind works, it would be obvious, but he's so immature he comes across as an elementary schooler.
"Harry, I don't really trust you."
"Mum, I promise, I'm perfectly fine. I'm not a baby, though sometimes I act like one."
"Start showing that, mister. I guess you can be by yourself. No girls, or guys. No friends, without me here, to meet them."
