Emma's Point Of View:

(Quick A/N: The entire book will be written in Emma, the MC's Point Of View, unless stated otherwise at the beginning of a chapter.)

I wake up to the sound of my alarm

blaring through its speakers, the most annoying sound I've ever made my ears endure hearing.

Why I'm up at seven in the morning on a Saturday? My boyfriend lives in a different time zone than I do, and where he lives, this is the only time he can skype with me. Considering that I'm willing to maintain a long distance relationship that's mostly online, waking up at 7 on a Saturday to talk to him, is a little sacrifice.

We met 3 years ago, at a concert.

We were both on vacation in Dallas Texas, and we spent an amazing 3 weeks together. When he asked me to be his girlfriend, neither of us realized that I live in California, and he lives in New York.

I know what your thinking. My parents are totally okay with it. I know they would prefer me not to,

But my mother says teenage girls have to experiment, and that I'll learn my lesson by the time it's over with, and that's all she would try to teach me in the first place.

She tries hard to reach out to me, and understand me, and I try to be grateful to her in return. She's the best mom I could ever ask for.

My dad doesn't like it, but he doesn't like the idea of me dating in general. He gets that I'm also 17, and so I'm bound to be dating somebody, and if the most we do together is Skype, then he is okay with it.

I open my laptop and quickly log into Skype, listening to the whoosh sound it makes as it launches.

*STEVEN ONLINE*

A square box in the corner of my computer screen reads.

Before I know it, the familiar skype ringtone is ringing through my ears, and I click the answer call button, desperate to get it to stop.

"Hey, beautiful!" He smiles.

"Hey, baby." I blow him a kiss.

"How did your birthday go?" I ask him.

"It was alright. I wish you could've flown in for it though. My friends still don't believe your a real girl."

"I wish I could've flown in too, but I can't afford that, on such a short notice. I'll try to make it out there soon."

"Yeah, that's the thing."

"What's the thing?"

"You won't have to fly out to see me, ever."

"Babe, your miles and miles away.

What am I going to do? Walk?"

"Look out your window, across the street, window closest to the floor."

For a minute, I believe my eyes are deceiving me. I haven't seen him in 3 years. How did he manage to keep him visiting a secret?

"Who are you staying with while your visiting?"

"We aren't visiting. I got into college near you, and my family moved in yesterday."

"Moved in?!"

"For good."

"Steven, this is great! Oh, I can't believe it."

"And there's more."

"More?"

"More. My moms been urging to meet you for a while. You want to come over for dinner tonight?"

"Dinner? With your mom?"
